Sales Associate (Model) Interview

Application Details

I applied through a recruiter. The process took a day - interviewed at Abercrombie & Fitch.

Interview Details

The interview is ridiculously easy. You can look up youtube videos that will give you the answers to basically any of the answers that they may ask you. The interviews are conducted in a group setting with maybe 3 or 4 other interviewees. Nowadays, the manager is mostly reading off the paper throughout the interview. They will ask 3 or 4 questions to each candidate (sometimes the same questions to everyone). Most questions aim to get to know you, as a person, better; not your past work experience. And instead of dressing professionally, it is better to wear their clothes so they can better see how you would fit in to the store.

Got recruited on the streets by one of the managers and was told to apply online. They called me within a week to ask if I could come in for an interview and gave me the choice to choose my own interview time. Went in for an interview and got a call the next day offering the position!

I applied online - interviewed at Abercrombie & Fitch in September 2014.

    Interview Details

I applied online and chose an interview date. I came in on that day and regretted applying there as soon as I walked in. The music was so loud that the manager couldn't eve hear me tell him my name and I had to repeat it THREE times. The scent they spray in the store also gave me a headache while waiting 15 minutes to be interviewed. We went outside and I was asked a total of three simple questions about who I was, what diversity is etc. The manage then went over the look policy which is absolutely ridiculous. They don't encourage individuality whatsoever. They want all of their associates to dress, wear their makeup, and style their hair a certain way. Abercrombie & Fitch should be happy that anyone still wants to work there!! While I was there a total of two customers came in. This store is doing really bad these days. I was told I'd get a call within a week if they chose to hire me. If they do call I will be declining the job offer.

Group interview asking basic questions, very hard to not get the job. Interview is super casual you can pretty much wear whatever you want as long as you dress in something that looks like or is abercrombie. Only one interview and the process is not very long either

I applied through a recruiter - interviewed at Abercrombie & Fitch.

    Interview Details

It was a group interview in an upbeat environment. They were mainly looking for outgoing sociable people who also seemed to suit the brand. This is important so the associates represent the brand well and are genuine to customers asking for advice or suggestions. It was a really relaxed interview but they are a little bit selective in choosing people who they know are chatty and have a bit of confidence.

I applied online. The process took 1+ week - interviewed at Abercrombie & Fitch.

    Interview Details

I called the store and I asked if they were hiring- they said that they did interviews every Tuesday and Thursday at 4. The manager told me to come into the store on Tuesday at 3 so I could fill out an application in the store. I showed up to the store on Tuesday at 2:55 and went to the desk and asked where i could apply. A sales associate led me to the computer where i filed out my application. Several times while i was filling it out, managers came up to me and introduced themselves. I finished with the application around 3:40 and then i had to wit for the interview.
Waiting for the interview was awkward because i basically had to just walk around the store and pretend like i was looking at clothes until i saw everyone go outside for the interview, it was super uncomfortable( because it was for like 30 minutes). Then I just decided to wait outside. I just so happened to look over my shoulder and saw that there were people gathered for the interview- they already started. Thankfully, they had only just introduced themselves.
There were 5 people in the interview and she asked the typical abercrombie questions; it took about a total of 20 minutes. She said thanks and she'd call within a week if we got hired.
I waited for a week and got no call, so I called them. they told me that I had been hired and to come in for an orientation that sunday.
I came in for my orientation, and my manager asked me to work the same day.

Very basic interview. It was my first job so I was actually incredibly nervous. Main manager interviewed me in a group, one other person. She mostly asked questions about your personality and hobbies, but the most important question is "what is diversity to you".
Easy interview, terrible process though. Nearly took a month, my employ card never worked correctly, and pictures for being apart of the team were never taken. Overall, a very easy job and interview process.

    Interview Questions
    • No difficult questions, but it is always a good idea to do your research about the company and especially the idea of diversity, in which they ask in the interview, and throughout your stay at the job   Answer Question

The hiring manager asks questions about the store's history, and why is teamwork and diversity important. Usually a group interview, very informal. They like you to be wearing their latest clothes and look as close to their "look policy" as possible. If they like you, the interview/ hiring process goes very quickly. They are constantly looking for new people and love "fresh faces."

Apply on the computer and show up day you choose. They ask you how your friends describe you and what diversity means to you. They usually ask you to say there saying hey whats going on? To see how you sound. Almost everyone gets the job. You should get a call sometime between 3 days to 2 weeks depending on who did the interview.

Just a really easy, relaxed group interview with the assistant manager. There were only 4 questions and they were really simple. They just had us each answer the question in a row, meaning that the last person had an advantage since they got to listen to everyone's answers.
