    Pros

It is a good company to work with in terms of work life balance and the work.

    Cons

But the dsiheartening part is people Managers think that they are God and they exploit the expertise and efficiency of lower band levels by not utilizing it to the core. Esp in ABRT Finance, male managers are authoritative, dominating and does not even have the etiquettes to talk to their peers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please create a concept called FEEDBACK and seriously do something for the less privileged ones left out in the organization left at the mercy of such God called managers. Thanks !!
People change managers and not companies.. N managerial support is pathetic.

    Pros

    Cons

Unpredictable. business unit was closed down in very short notice and employees asked to go

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There will be definitely harsh decisions based on companies performance, but layoffs can be done in more supportive manner with reasonable compensation benefits

I have been working at Agilent Technologies full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I can't find anything positiv. I am really sorry.

    Cons

Not at all customer focus. At least in the division I worked for. Processes to complicated. Everything just takes to long time. Nobody is following up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Needs way more customer focus and a better communication with employees. Improving the process should be focus.

    Cons

Managers has no direction and only wants to achieve results. Poor or No leadership. Sales is everything and all else secondary.

I have been working at Agilent Technologies full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Great brand and history.

The HP legacy is still there despite Bill Sullivan's best efforts to kill it

    Cons

Agilent has gone from 7+ divisions and 51,000 employees in 2001 to 5700 employees and three divisions in 2014. That is a 90% reduction in employees

The constant downsizing means there is NO growth for rank & file. It is NOT a career, it is just a job unless you sit on executive row.

Management is rewarded for continually splitting chunks of the company off and selling them. Keysight is just the latest chunk to be whittled out for the benefit of the shareholders and the board.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Think about Customers, Employees and Product before your personal enrichment (ha!)

I have been working at Agilent Technologies full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Flexible work hours, vacation schedules

    Cons

As an Agilent manager, it is frustrating not being able to reward strong employees. Handcuffed, year after yr. resulting in poor attitudes, diminished performance. Too many talented people leave for more rewarding jobs. Constantly training new individuals, only for them to leave after a couple of yrs. Long term employees are leaving at an alarming rate, taking with them a wealth of knowledge. Clear separation of mangers and employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To understand that the employee is their greatest asset and should be treated on par with their customers. You take care of your employees they will take care of you. The formula for success does not get any simpler. That is not the case here.

I worked at Agilent Technologies full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Good benefits. Great employees. Good opportunities. Excellent market and business.

    Cons

The employees are treated poorly. The work environment is hostile. The management for the Lake Forest and Folsom site looks down on employees. They are not open to any new ideas or suggestions. It is a very closed environment. Employees are afraid of sharing their ideas because of possible harsh consequences.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider employees as the great asset of the company as they should be.

    Pros

Great mission. Decent pay. Good people to work with.

    Cons

Constant drive for low cost IT services....to the point that all they do is outsource. Half the price for 1/4th the quality. Very disappointing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make IT accountable to the business and give them the budget to actually add value.

    Pros

Leader in some market space. If you work in R&D or sales in those you are ok. Otherwise the organization will prevail and your chances to succed are very limited

    Cons

Very beurocratic, centrally managed, political management style. A yesman kind is the perfect profile for career opportunities here. If you like to just execute, this is the job for you, but if you want to think and express your thoughts life is going to be difficult

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change style and the overall organizational model
