    Pros

The insurance benefits are great and the pay is great as well as the overtime available and the holiday pay.

    Cons

There are no verbal disclosures to customers, so a customer can pay for a car in advance and not get the car because they did not "read" all the fine print. Also, at the counter things are added on, such as insurances and the customer often times is not "aware" of the charges until they are billed. They are then told to call CS.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

DISCLOSE.....it really sucks having to tell someone that it is too bad they already paid for a car and are not eligible to drive it.

    Pros

Typically one can develop great relationships with the customers of their location. The fellow employees are usually good people as well.

    Cons

Extremely high turnover rate. Poor supply chain management skills. Every week I would encounter a situation where the district manager did not have enough necessary cars available to rent. This creates furious customers who are unable to rent a car and all they can do is yell at the customer service rep.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

At least pretend like you want to be there and work for the company.

I worked at Avis Budget Group part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Not much. Commission would be a pro but a smaller airport plus we never had cars made it difficult.

    Cons

Manager was horrible since it's her first time. She does not know how to deal with her employees. A little to friendly with employees from other rental agencies which is not good practice. Rumors spreading about idiotic things. I hate having a job when people are always talking about each other. That's why I quit my job. At the end of the day if you don't like your work environment you should always leave because it will just get worse.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get some managers who know what they are doing and have been managers previously. I get that it will be more difficult in a smaller area but it will save you in the long haul.

    Pros

    Great benefits and that's it!

    Cons

High turn over rate due to poor management. Some coworkers try to throw you under the bus to look better. The shifts are all about seniority so prepare to work odd hours. Also those hours usually don't pay well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

All the good managers leave because they don't fit into the "boys club." Stop talking about promoting from within when you know you aren't going to do it.

    Pros

Usually a lot of available overtime since the turn over rate is really high.

    Cons

Favoritism over seniority, lack of caring and help from management, high turn over rate, inaccuracy with working hours and paychecks. I could go on and on. If you gain a few pay raises and want to move up to a better position, they take your pay raises and put you down to what the starting pay is!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop being lazy and actually work and help your employees. Hire from within the company.

    Pros

Great work life balance, great vacation, easy work. A 9-5 gig with no pressure/stress. Easy to look like a rock star.

    Cons

Absolutely no innovation and zero focus on the customer. Totally operations/sales-driven culture. Pace is very slow and no drive to innovate or compete with a rapidly changing marketplace. Very incestuous culture, good ole boys club. Leadership is uninspiring. I'm surprise this company hasn't been eaten by the competition.

    Cons

Horrible hours...horrible scripts to be repeated to every single customer...regardless of their needs

    Pros

Starting pay is good... usually 11.50 and then plus commission if you are a rental sales agent
The "down" months where we are not too busy and get paid to just be there sometimes

    Cons

    MANAGEMENT COMMUNICATION
Summer and being oversold on cars..... EVERY DAY!

    Pros

Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of organizations mission -- specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning.
Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Support Services (HR, IT and Finance), through improvements to each function as well as coordination and communication between support and business functions.
Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.
Oversee overall financial management, planning, systems and controls.
Management of agency budget in coordination with the Executive Director.
    Development of individual program budgets
Invoicing to funding sources, including calculation of completed units of service.
Payroll management, including tabulation of accrued employee benefits.
Disbursement of checks for agency expenses.
    Organization of fiscal documents.
Regular meetings with Executive Director around fiscal planning.
Supervise and coach office manager on a weekly basis.

    Cons

You will sign a contract with the outsourcing company that will cover the details of the service that they will be providing. Any thing not covered in the contract will be the basis for you to pay additional charges. Additionally, you will experience legal fees to retain a lawyer to review the contacts you will sign. Remember, this is the outsourcing company's business. They have done this before and they are the ones that write the contract. Therefore, you will be at a disadvantage when negotiations start.
