    Pros

Chances of moving on up if you're in a office position. Good hours with better than usual pay ( if located in a airport location)

    Cons

Very old school people. Old timers hold on to these jobs and make it really annoying to work with. The "big wiggs" think their all that when they show up. Pay could be a lot better. Stressful seasons kill you!

    Pros

Company car and fuel was a great benefit. Full relocation benefit when promoted. Great shareholder results.

    Cons

Low salary and wages, required to work many hours, high turnover rate among the employees, always covering shifts and recruiting, inconsistencies in management and leadership philosophies. Difficult to get quality time-off with family when in operations, always monitoring and responding to email..averaged 130 emails a day. limited support and tools to get the job done.

Maintenance invisible to management until improper planning on they're behalf results in an all out emergency on ours

    Pros

The pros to working at Avis: You receive a company car and gas for now. Good health insurance coverage.

    Cons

Some of the cons are upper mobility. Old fashioned mentality, all who you know in the right place at right time. Work hard with no advancement. Upper management will applaud you but will not advance you. Lot's of promises with no action.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Avis provides top quality training to it's associates. I learned so much through the 6 week training as well as shadowing others. Good money if you work in a high foot traffic location such as sfo.

    Cons

    Terrible management.
My sense of morality disappeared for awhile.

Former Employee - Customer Service Representative in San Antonio, TX (US)

    Pros

    - Friendly coworkers
    - OK benefits

    Cons

    - Not necessarily managed well
    - Management & supervisor inefficiencies caused a lot of extra work, but nobody willing to work it for same reason
    - Not willing to work with everyone's schedules
    - Some room for advancement, but you have to fight those already in place for it

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Consider termination or shuffling of those who are "buddy buddy" with everyone due to tenure, management and associate alike; these attitudes cost time, money, and cause high turnover.
    - Consider doing what's best for operations, not what's going to make you friend(s)

Current Employee - CBD (Courtesey Bus Driver) in Romulus, MI (US)

    Pros

There are many great opportunities the company has for their employees, there is room in the company for you to grow and move up.

    Cons

Just that the way they have things set up as far as you being a new hire, scheduling is not all that great, most if the time you never know your days off until the new work relief schedule is put up, a day before or last day of your previous schedule. Nothing nice!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find another way to fit new hire's on the schedule without them feeling like they probably won't have a life working with this company.
