I have been working at DISH full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Dish hires several times throughout the year. They have a good starting wage. If you are not an attendance issue and have a good attitude you can advance to various depts. They also have tuition reimbursement for most courses. I've been at dish more that a year and can honestly say that for a call center environment it one of the better ones.

    Cons

You dont always have a say as to what training you get picked for. The goal is to be upwardly mobile and not everyone has this objective. There are round tables to get info on procedure but rarely do we see changes implemented from the round table suggestions. However, this may be Web because I have not been there long enough.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sometimes training op's are used as interview tools and perhaps a probationary period might be a more effective way of evaluating.

I have been working at DISH full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Management here is intent on redeveloping the employee experience and showing the value that each employee brings to the company. This is a fast paced and every changing environment, where people with curiosity, knowledge and experience truley do succeed in positive growth and movement.

    Cons

I don't think they are cons, but many do. If you are not willing to work hard and be dedicated to what you are doing, you will not fit in well in this company. We do spend long hours developing and managing IT and Business products so that in the end, the consumer has the greatest experience possible. This is across the board, from customer service, to installation services and the manufacturing portion of the company. All employees are challenged to bring the greatest skills to the table and assist with the growth and development of the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Company values are in serious consideration these days and it is nice to see them being openly discussed with teams and other management. Don't lose this focus, we can only become better.

I have been working at DISH full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I worked at Dish for one year and had an enjoyable experience. My team was okay but my managers and VP were amazing! They were very supportive, the work was challenging and I found most departments to be helpful. The pay was decent but nothing to brag about and the benefits were about what you expect anywhere.

    Cons

Many other teams were absolutely miserable and just sticking with the job until something better came along. One huge negative, they do not trust their employees. They used to run a badge report checking your hours. For those that need to be monitored fine but for those of us that work hard don't appreciate the distrust.

I have been working at DISH full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great pay, feedback constantly solicited for improvement, amazing performance incentives for frontline agents, positive atmosphere!!!

    Cons

Employees are given so much that appreciation is replaced with a sense of entitlement a need for more.. MORE...MORE. Impossible to satisfy your internal customer.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue the path of soliciting feedback to ensure all concerns are addressed. Continue to recap improvements that you have made.

    Pros

The team I work for is awesome! We are like a family and all get along really well. Our manager rocks and I couldn't ask for a better situation.

    Cons

Medical benefits are not the greatest and within my specific expertise/role, there isn't much room to move up.

I have been working at DISH full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The money is great. The benefits are just like anywhere else. Discount on the service is cool. 401K is awesome and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan is good!

    Cons

You have to be able to adapt. Change happens all of the time. This is a fast paced environment and everything impacts the company so everything is being watched. However if you are doing what you are supposed to and you can adapt to change then there will be no issues.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do not forget the environment. In sales the environment is key, if you want to change or implement something, that is great but do not forget the environment. An environment that is not clean or stable is a recipe for un-happy employees also they will not want to adapt to changes you are making.

I have been working at DISH full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Amazing technology, terrific opportunity, and the chance to work with some of the smartest people I've ever met. People here are driven, dedicated, and incredibly savvy. DISH also re-committed to providing even more leadership training to every manager in the company.

    Cons

High expectations cause some leaders to forget best practices and that can drive employees out. The company is working to give managers better tools to work with their people, but some leaders aren't willing to change. Those leaders make it tough on their people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep working on leadership! Be willing to change!
