I worked at DSG International (Dixons Retail) full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Dsg are a powerful company with certain categories often with over 50% market share. Former CEO was very strong implementing much needed change.
Cons – An environment exists in Dixon where those who have the ability to put the best spin on a situation were likely to do well. This was improving but still not enough focus on wider performance.

Pros – If you are in the right store, with the right management team then it can be enjoyable. Otherwise, head office don't care too much about those on the ground.
Cons – Lots of mis-communication to the store staff from head office both from a sales target and merchandising point of view.
Advice to Senior Management – Trust the staff more, rather than worry about if they are going to do something bad.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

I have been working at DSG International (Dixons Retail) part-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Good for students to get some experience, young environment, social events, decent salary for students.
Cons – Promised benefits never paid, promised opportunities for further development never came true, some of the branches are purely recruiting only certain nationalities
Advice to Senior Management – Improve! It doesn't matter that you are dealing mostly with students you should act as professionals.

I worked at DSG International (Dixons Retail) full-time for more than a year
Pros – The people are mercurial; I worked with some of the best people I have ever met in their fields. The senior leadership team talk to the people on the front line in terms of customer experience and doing the right thing.
Cons – Unfortunately, far too many are average at best, and there's a lot of incompetence and lack of accountability. Despite talking a good game, with their customer plan, the focus is consistently on reducing cost base. During times of unprecedented sales demand, costs continue to be cut driving a poor customer experience and lost revenue.
Advice to Senior Management – Consider budgets beyond single fiscal years. You lose revenue through over promised cost base cuts, which means you cut into flesh rather than trimming fat.

I have been working at DSG International (Dixons Retail) full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – 10% discount at store. Can't think of anything else
Cons – Long hours, no career progression prospect, continuous redundancies and managed out of business. Staff appreciated by higher management just another number. No training provided and people moved out of business due to small reasons. old building, equipment and awful IT support from India.
Advice to Senior Management – Listen you your staff and appreciate the hard work they do.

I worked at DSG International (Dixons Retail)
Pros – The salary levels are OK but there is not much else positive to say currently
Cons – The management style is brutal. There is zero consideration to your life/work balance.
Your views are neither invitied or respected. Team members are openly berrated infront of the rest of the staff. The working atmosphere is very poor. My advice? If you work there - get out!
If you are thinking about working there - don't!
Advice to Senior Management – There needs to be less focus on clever systems, processes and fancy store layouts and more focus on getting the basics right: right product, right quanitiy at the right price in the right place at the right time.

I worked at DSG International (Dixons Retail)
Pros – Easy to get positions, but may not be the most flexible around holidays. Good to work for if you want part time, and also not bothered about actually getting bonuses etc- most are not really available. The team in some stores can be great friends that you will always remember- in the lower turnover (i.e. good management) stores that is! If you know someone who works at one- ask them about the management- it can make alot of difference. I went through management changes and boy were new management digging a hole for themselves in the store as morale plummets!
Cons – No christmas/new year holidays allowed, plus not much flexibility if you want more hours over fewer days. Expect to possibly get 'done over' when it comes to overtime, good faith work, and also working at the higher position and getting it paid to you in back dated pay- just do not fall for it. Although At times it can be quite a good place to be.
Whatever you do, try to enjoy it, and remember you do not need to go in for their pushing- you have the ability to do things your way- your not paid by commission so serve the customer in your personal advantage.
Advice to Senior Management – Find out about the ones at your store- your store managers make a would of difference. One store management team were superb- and it refelected in the customer service- most others are terrible

I worked at DSG International (Dixons Retail)
Pros – Can't think of much - Staff discount and occasional incentives
Cons – High pressure to sell additional insurance, often unneeded. Poor, superficial training. Some dreadful products.
Advice to Senior Management – Less of the management speak, and actually do something. Hi-Tech products need staff with more hi tech knowledge.
