I have been working at Forest Labs

    Pros

They premote within the company and if you are ranked high you will get must jobs you apply for.

    Cons

They had a stacked ranking that was not fair and that caused a lot of people to move on or get pushed out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Listen to you reps.

I worked at Forest Labs full-time

    Pros

Forest labs took good care of its employees - benefits including pay, profit sharing, bonus etc and most importantly investment in the growth of employees by investing in training - both internal and seminar/specialized courses.

    Cons

M&A posed typical challenges but it was managed reasonably well - but can always be improved.

    Pros

Working with very experienced co-workers. The workload is very fair with 1-2 protocols.

    Cons

There are a lot of changes with the merging of companies and future is uncertain.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Forest Labs full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, flexible schedule, good products, good incentives. Your work load really depends on your manager.

    Cons

The company is not the same with the new CEO. Delayed rankings, constantly changing how you are ranked, very outdated expense report system that takes forever, each rep sells 4-5 products that are completely different, lower base salary then most other pharm companies.

I worked at Forest Labs full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great place to build a career. Forest has always had a strong vision in a very competitive industry and was a great place to work for many years. They emphasized training and an entrepreneurial approach to sales.

    Cons

In the end they became a bit resistant to change and adapt to the market. With the new CEO and merger this only got worse.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a very honest look at the changes in the healthcare market and how to best sell in those markets that have been most effected. The old-school "reach and frequency" model of selling will not work in every market.

I thought this was a great job with some exceptionally talented reps and management.

    I worked at Forest Labs

    Pros

Great management that was fair and skilled at employee development. Talented reps and healthy culture.

    Cons

Probably industry wide. Admins run company and many decisions without any clue about what is happening in the field. Bad targets, poor reporting. Etc...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Great job to all the DMs, RDs, and trainers. Way up the ladder maybe you all need to trust those employees.

    Pros

Prior to our company being acquired, the employees were all treated very well in terms of bonuses, raises, stock options and retirement compensation.

    Cons

Unfortunately, yearly performance reviews meant close to nothing.
