I have been working at Google as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Awesome place to work for. Awesome people and great culture. Food was a way lot better than college mess food.

    Cons

After the internship you take a bit of time to settle for the college mess food. To be serious, none con that I noticed.

    Pros

Has the best employee environment and gives the best facilities to them. A family like atmosphere inside company without bounds makes you enjoy your work.

    Cons

It actually has none as far as I could find. You name anything and Google had already thought of it and worked upon it.

    Pros

An opportunity that broadened my horizons and helped gain insight into the best practices with a leading company. The focus on good quality work and ethics surpassed everything else. Managers and seniors at every level were approachable and gave constant feedback to achieve significant improvements in a very short span of time.

    Cons

Was spoilt with the perks from the job and the experience increased my overall expectations from any future employer.

    Advice to Management

Please create more opportunities to have Interns on board so that the awareness and enthusiam is created amongst high performing students to consider prospects with Google.

Perks are amazing. People are so smart and highly motivated. They deserve to be on top

    Cons

Sometimes it's hard to understand what managers want. Or it might be hard to get meetings with them as they are so busy.

    Pros

The best reason to work here is people that quite similar to yourself. If you have any ideas, your team will support you instantaneously.

    Cons

The biggest challenge is a huge flow of information and you should have ability to absorb this information as fast as you can in a quality dimension.

    Pros

Best experience of my life. I recommend it to everybody I meet. I had the time of my life over the summer I was here. My coworkers were great, my work was interesting, I joined some intramural teams, I ate lots of good food, and more than anything it opened SO MANY doors for me down the road by having Google on my resume.

    Cons

I came into the BOLD program because I didn't find a placement within the more traditional Software Engineering Intern role (I had accommodations for my interview which pushed back the timeline of when they could be performed... so I passed the technical screen and got through to the the team placement phase but ended up running out of time before I got placed). Anywho, BOLD is not really set up for technical interns, so there were some issues getting access to the coding resources I needed when I arrived and it was a little haphazard on that front. But I think that's probably just unique to my situation given that I was an eng in the BOLD program. The rest of the BOLDers (business/law/finance people) didn't seem to have any troubles.

    Advice to Management

Keep on keeping on. You guys rock! I only wish that I been exposed to the idea of an internship at Google earlier (I did it my senior year). To that end, I would love to see a larger push on campuses to apply, as I didn't hear about anyone from my school (NYU) talking about/applying to the program. In fact, I think there were only 2 of us who did so. I don't know how she knew to do it, but I heard through my disability network (Lime Connect) which isn't of much use to the rest of the normally functioning students.
