    ProsYou can grow and move to another country if you work hard. Great brands and beers!

    ConsFast paced environment, not reasonable expectations You will be promoted if you are pushy and challenging people all the time. They are very proud of their culture but it's nothing to be proud of. Overtime and overtime and overtime and no compensation.

    Advice to Senior ManagementGive more salary to your people and change your culture. You have to be a good Employer to have great people onboard!

    ProsI was lucky enough to work for August the III before the company sold. It was a great place to work before the buy-out.

    ConsHorrible treatment after the buy-out. Kept getting excellent reviews but no advancement opportunity. Had to hold your breath every November to January to see if you were getting cut. More work, same pay. Watched the new company hire new grads so they could pay them significantly less to do the same jobs for those who they forced to retire.

    Advice to Senior ManagementNo point, they won't take it any way.

    Getting worse...especially since Brito tookover!

    ProsThere is always work. If you are the type of person who enjoys working for the sake of working, come here. The only good thing I can say is that this company will give you work and more work. If you are the ruthless type, you will fit in here. This company is not for the faint hearted.

    ConsThe pay. We are going to do more and get paid less. This company has lowered quality and I suspect this will cause it to lose more business.

    People are the last thing on their mind.

    ProsPassionate industry with a lot of history and very knowledgeable people. Hours can be tough at times but overall not completely impossible to maintain a balance.

    ConsThis company talks a lot about its people and how they are the most important and valuable asset, but do not believe it. Brito cares about one thing and one thing only, which is the bottom line. This complete disconnect between what management said and what it actually did made this the unhappiest environment I have ever worked in. I worked at InBev during the AB acquisition, and while I wasn't made redundant myself I understand that redundancies will and must happen after any merger or acquistion. However, the way that it was handled was an insult to those employees who had given years of service to either InBev or AB; terrible communication, changes to deadlines and poor severance packages made it clear that management viewed employees as expendable. I resigned not long after to a much happier workplace, and would recommend any and all to stay away.

    Advice to Senior ManagementStop talking about culture, and act in such a way that will actually help to create the culture you are aiming for. Talking about people but only looking at cost will only last so long, and you will continue to see talent leave as you focus purely on cost-cutting to pay for the latest acquisition at inflated prices.

    What's To Like?

    ProsWorking at InBev provides many valuable lessons in how NOT to run a business.

    ConsA shoddy, third-rate operation on every level. The U.S. plants have become disgusting and dangerous places to work under InBev, as safety and sanitation are not part of the cost-cutting culture.

    Senior management holds its employees in contempt, yet wonders why no one is "engaged." The reasons for the mass exodus taking place now as the economy improves seems to be truly lost on them, despite nickel and diming employees since the takeover (the ones who haven't been fired, that is), right down to passing along the $50 a year fee to manage your 401K account.

    Lights are kept turned off in all office areas, and in many parts of the plants as a rule.

    The culture of "Meritocracy" is a farce. Bonus payouts are not based on extraordinary performance, they are based on narrowly defined targets, set at the beginning of the year, and don't seem to be much more than a mirage to keep employees chasing after pay that the old A-B would have already distributed in merit increases over the past 2 years.

    Advice to Senior ManagementAs a stockholder in several competing companies, let me just say: please don't change a thing.

    Cost cost cost....who cares about anything else

    ProsA known company. Everyone knows your products.

    2 cases a month...while it lasts....

    ConsAll they care about is cost. 120 payment terms to suppliers? No one wants to work with you due to that.

    Open office enviroment causes a lot of negativity. The only way to make more money is to become a manager. Makes people not want to talk to eachother, or work with eachother. A lot of backstabing involved.

    No one cares about technicals, only powerpoints. Everyone is managing upwards. Managers do not care about employees under them.

    Everything is about cost... and they sacerfice quality.

    Advice to Senior ManagementBrito needs to understand the total cost is important. Not just procured costs.

    Anheuser Busch InBev work enviroment

    ProsWith economy down, it is employment until the next round of lay-offs come around. There are still a few decent people left.

    ConsMorale low-top management passes along that downsizing finished, only to come along a few weeks later and lay-off more people. Work doesn't go away, just absorbed by those remaining. Most salaried people worked 50 to 60 hours a week with AB, now 60 to 70 hours a week. One comment--Its still light out,you don't need to leave yet.
    Salary bands lowered, so if you are above the top of the band, you won't get a raise.
    Previous posting mentioned ability to get promoted with willingness to move--look at company demograhics, very few people with company over 40 years old.

    Advice to Senior ManagementBrito and the board run the company . Yes, most people know that. Employees don't have to be happy with what is happening though. The employee survey asks the quesition if people would leave for another company offering a little higher salary, most people are looking for a position somewhere else--regardless of salary. Even the newly hired college people are getting full of the Kool-Aid, and realize it is a short term future with this company.

    Ruthless to employees and suppliers

    ProsAB InBev loves money, in fact, they worship it. Pay and bonus are higher than standard but it comes at a high price to your humanity.

    ConsLittle respect for others in the workplace. If you care about people then this is not the culture for you. Their culture is simple, "the end justifies the means". Lying to employees is at the heart of the culture.

    Advice to Senior ManagementYour culture will clash with many Americans. As the public understands the culture and the company behind the product. Many Americans will not drink your beer.

    If you can't find anything else in the current economic crisis . . . . .

    ProsThe chance to work for a worldwide company with household names as brands. A competitve salary and a final salary pension if have been there for a long time (not available to new starters).

    ConsPoorly managed since the transfere from Interbrew to Inbev. Staff cost cutting exercise released the wrong people, only a handfull of engineers left on site and they were the ones with the knowledge to run the place. The shop floor had proposed to take the senior managemen to court over an attempt to change their hours from 39 to 42 a week. The company backed down before it reached court.

    Advice to Senior ManagementDrop VPO. Although it contains some good stuff this project has not been managed well and will not get any backing from staff going forward. VPO means redundacies to the men actually running the plant

    Stay far away from this place.

    ProsFree beer. People think it's amazing to work for a beer company. You get to go to parties, baseball games, there is a pub in the office, office is close to downtown.

    ConsThe management could care less about the people that work there. They treat employees terribly, have no respect for personal boundaries, force you to work in an area that looks like a call centre and are generally awful people. If you are woman, you get sexually harassed and people think this is normal behaviour. Compared to Molson, this organization is a total joke. They refuse to learn from best practices and develop the 'inBev Way' for everything. But that way changes as the wind blows. Stay far away.

    Advice to Senior ManagementUnderstand that you need to lead with a carrot not a stick. Treat your employees well and they will help you meet your objectives. Screaming, yelling, generally jerkiness will not get you anywhere. Treat everyone with respect, you never know where they will end up one day.
