    Pros

Professional environment with an opportunity to move up "Get Promoted" within the company.

    Cons

Working long hours when necessary with and without rewards. Management will listen to and implement all good ideas as long as there is no safety or business conflict.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Talk with the average worker more and especially the new personnel.

I have been working at J.B. Hunt full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great place to work. My coworkers are cool to work with. Management does its best to liven up the atmosphere and create excitement for a position that can be extremely repetitive. They give you the tools you need to succeeded and continue training even after the 3 week training period. The company is always getting new business and new career opportunities are always becoming available. Really great benefits that are extremely helpful

    Cons

I don't really have too many complaints. A lot of the complaints I here is the pay is low. Its definitely fair for not requiring a degree and the benefits available makes it better. Sometimes the hours can be long but that's the standard for the transportation industry. Another complaint is that sometimes politics are at play. It isn't anything that brings down morale but its noticeable that there are favorites.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

keep up the good work and cut down on the favoritism

I have been working at J.B. Hunt full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Time off is wonderful and its a company that you are able to move up in at a quick pace. They are a large company but address you on a personal level. The pay is great also.

    Cons

This company does have some issues. They mainly involve the driving portion of the company. In that I mean that sometimes it is hard to get back for your time off but they work hard to get you back in time.

I have been working at J.B. Hunt full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The company leadership has shown a consistent ability to set and meet short and long term goals, which has fueled consistent sustainable growth of the company. Because of their sound long-term financial management, JB Hunt is uniquely positioned to take advantage all industry conditions, including downturns.

The executive team is genuinely interested in the employees as individuals.

    Cons

The company has grown to the point where it is experiencing siloing. This presents a challenge when trying to respond rapidly to changing conditions.

Love the NW Arkansas area. Opportunity to advance or transfer out of jobs. Generally a nice place to work.

    Cons

I haven't found anything to be dissatisfied about.

I have been working at J.B. Hunt full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Teamwork, dynamic work environment, given responsibility quickly, great exposure to a large business and ability to quickly become ingrained and attuned to large companies supply chain needs and transportation.
Constantly challenged to grow as an individual and team.

    Cons

Work-life balance can be a challenge - its a personal problem for me that I tend to have a hard time switching off. Easy to let work become your life as a result.
On that same vein, time off could be encouraged and given more time sooner.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ensure you avoid being penny wise and dollar foolish by allowing good people to leave because they feel their prospects are limited or that they can earn more elsewhere and work less hours. Encourage individual growth and mentoring from upper management.
Continue to emphasize to all business units how vital all the other business units are. Currently attitudes of more established units tend to be that they are more important or necessary than newer units. Great exposure and/or cross training should help limit this.
