I have been working at Lorillard full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits, company car, flexible schedule, pay is good

    Cons

Company is being sold, CEO is a sell out! CEO cares nothing for the history of our company. CEO is a crook like all the rest of the Executives shifting stock money around. CEO says great things about the company & employees, if it was so good why do you jump ship?

I have been working at Lorillard full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    1) Large company with a small company feel. Really good people.
    2) Very competent CEO and many on the executive management team.
    3) Fun being a part of a very old company that is culturally moving into a newer and more modern environment.
    4) Many of the staff are dedicated employees. Very low turnover rate. Obviously the company is doing something right.
    5) Competitive salary and benefits with minor exception being a very unattractive vacation program

    Cons

    1) Like most companies, there is not a great deal of upward growth opportunity, but a smart person can really shine in this organization if they try.
    2) Some of the old style management still exists which can create a dysfunctional work environment.
    3) The vacation policy is something that could afford some attention and improvement. Could be a burden in attracting and landing good talent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the good work and continue to drive our company forward.

I have been working at Lorillard full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Excellent salary, Wonderful benefit package for employees like paid vacation, Excelent Medical and dental plans, retirement plan, 401k. Employees are given the opportunity to balance career and personal family life.

    Cons

It’s a tobacco company; The have a Old School Management with a really outdated dress policy!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Respect your staff more -trust their judgment - they are the ones in the trenches in what is a very unpopular occupation

I have been working at Lorillard

    Pros

The benefits are great and the pay is average versus competition, but benefits make up for a great deal of that. Company car, fuel, and maintenance are paid for by the company. Old-fashion company that keeps its eyes on being profitable more so than being number one for bragging rights. Flat out makes money and if they are making more than last year than job security is good.

    Cons

It’s a tobacco company; lots of people want to make villains of an industry that provides billions of tax dollars to keep these overspending states afloat. Can not say one bad thing about management from the bottom to the top

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let the guys get rid of the ties in the hot months.
