I have been working at Microsoft as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

No particular dress code, flexible work timings, option to choose what you want to work on, enough opportunities to try every profile present here, free cold-drinks, coffee , employee satisfaction is the best!

    Cons

No cons as such, just that Microsoft as a whole should have a common logo on all its products so that people can recognize it more. no people just recognize the individual products like windows, office, bing, xbox, but not all know that its all of Microsoft! One more con... The food is so good that I think I will get FAT .

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The management is awesome.. starting from the mentor to the manager to the manager of manager, everyone takes care of you very well.

    I worked at Microsoft

    Pros

Very flexible timings, and cool environment. People are very cooperative. Good salary, good facilities. Home drop service. Parties and trips are very frequent

    Cons

The projects worked on in India are not very critical to the company. Such projects are worked on at Redmond. You are doing no better job compared to other IT cos, only your pay is more.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The leadership is great. They will motivate you in the most appropriate way in the interest of the company. The pay is good.

I worked at Microsoft as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

They spoil their interns like crazy -- talks from management, parties, social gatherings, alumni events for your school, gifts, food, etc.

    Cons

Very hierarchical, with a lot of focus on the chain of command and promotion.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are folks who thrive more on being encouraged to be their best than on being encouraged to fit HR's promotion guidelines, even if those folks are encouraged to be their best in those areas. It's about rephrasing conversations about success.

    Cons

To be honest- not really any big cons. The only thing is that I wish they had free food, although that is stretching it.
