Had an awesome experience with Qualcomm :)

Intern (Former Employee)
Hyderābād

I worked at Qualcomm as an intern for less than a year

ProsI did my summer Intern with Qualcomm and I enjoyed working at Qualcomm. The best thing about this company is you get to work with the real time projects which others companies normally not allowed interns to work on. The environment was very friendly and the people were very cooperative.

ConsNot a very good company for CS graduates(In terms of work but they do offer a competitive package to software developers also ;) ) the reason supporting my argument is that the development work is relatively less in India as compared to San Diego (Head Quarters Qualcomm), it also depends on which team you are part of, i did my intern in software field only but luckily i got a very good project to work upon and learnt lot of new things from it, so you cannot be sure that the team in which you are going to put in will have very good development work.

Great Internship! Would do again 10/10

IT Intern (Former Employee)
San Diego, CA (US)

I worked at Qualcomm full-time for less than a year

ProsWorked residential IT prior to the internship, was placed in a technical position and started learning how to support an enterprise. Personally, I had great management support and felt I was placed in the right area.

ConsThere are a lot of meetings with different groups of people. It can be extremely hard to follow someone not in your line of expertise.

Advice to Senior ManagementIT departments are hesitant to make an offer after an internship, unlike other areas.

Best Summer Ever

Engineering Intern (Former Employee)
Boulder, CO (US)

I worked at Qualcomm as an intern for less than a year

ProsQualcomm has a great internship program. They flew us all out and paid for our living expenses, and also flew us out to San Diego for a weekend. There is also a lot of interaction with your manager/mentor (may depend on your team) and most interns are given projects with an impact.

ConsThere is a good amount of bureaucracy, which is to be expected from such a large company.

Really well organized

Engineer Intern (Former Employee)
San Diego, CA (US)

I worked at Qualcomm as an intern for less than a year

ProsI had a great team: mentor, technical lead, and manager.
Everyone was willing to help out. There were also tons of other interns there, so it was like being in a college town.

ConsThere really weren't too many cons! It is quite fast paced, but even for someone who barely could code in C, I was able to handle it.

Advice to Senior ManagementNot much really!
