I worked at Qualcomm as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Awesome perks, accommodation provided, weekends trips, good culture

    Cons

Interns should be asked for preference when assigning them teams or projects.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Intern should not be put on teams with busy managers who are unable to guide them

I have been working at Qualcomm as an intern for less than a year

    Cons

the center in san-diego is perhaps better than those in india. The opportunity to go abroad is open after two years of service.

I have been working at Qualcomm as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Qualcomm provides perhaps the best benefits in the industry. Everything is paid for ( accommodation, food, transport) and you get a competitive stipend of Rs. 20,000. Each intern is assigned one mentor and one manager so you get a lot of attention. There are team outings, quizzes and the workplace itself is full of energy. Innovative thinking is encouraged and the work load is well balanced. Also it has a really high conversion ratio from intern to full time employee. employee

    Cons

the sex ratio is disapointingly screwed .. out of 39 interns in bangalore in summer 2012 , only 2 were girls. But then the number of girls doing engineering is really less.

I have been working at Qualcomm

    Pros

Its an Informal Company. You get lots of Freedom to work, play , do anything.
No questions asked if you do your job right and when I say right I don't mean working your ass off :)

    Cons

There is not much innovative work going down here.Usually those are done by the main team and the remaining "deterministic" work is given to the starters.

Current Employee - Interim Engineering Intern in Santa Clara, CA (US)

I have been working at Qualcomm as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Great growth opportunity and work environment. The company sponsors many internal learning and training sessions to learn both internal infrastructures and useful skills that can be used outside the company.

    Cons

Feels like a big company. Hard to move up or around and big company bureaucracy is widely prevalent. Time commitment is extremely large as well. Most employees work long hours after going home.
