Laid back and hands-off corporate environment

Systems Engineer (Former Employee) Saint Louis, MO (US)

ProsI enjoyed the relatively non-invasive management style in the corporate office. There was expectation of getting tasks completed on time but no one sitting on your back to do them.

ConsWhile having freedom was good, lack of communication and project structure left me unprepared for my next role in a company that was much faster-paced.

Advice to Senior ManagementAdopt and implement agile or waterfall project management structures.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    It a good company

Program Director (Current Employee) Houston, TX (US)

ProsThey are more then competitive. Good people who are realistic

ConsRecent health insurance decreases. Itouch POC is horrible. I wish they would scrap their computer system. To much paperwork with a bad try at paperless

Advice to Senior ManagementThe business is realistic. People need to realize the atmosphere. People complain about the company but they are above average. The other companies I've worked for ate not as good as rehabcare. Productivity is realistic and anyone who says otherwise is mot attuned to the industry. They want to see people and not even earn their salary. The company, besides the paperwork, is good. Beware of Reliant rehab

I have been happily employed with RehabCare (née PeopleFirst) for 4.5 years.

Speech Language Pathologist (Current Employee) Denver, CO (US)

ProsMy team is awesome and both Area Rehab Directors for whom I worked have been both responsive and effective leaders.

ConsMy company has failed to renew the leases Ann upwards of 70 buildings throughout the US and many of us will be no longer employed by our parent company -- Kindred Healthcare. This is a huge disappointment and a seeming lack of return on the loyalty I gave the company.

ConsHigh productivity standards prevent you from keeping your patients needs first.

One on one rehab care in longterm snf, subacute rehab.

Certified Physical Therapist Assistant (Current Employee) Lakewood, WA (US)

ProsOne on one patient care. I enjoy working with the patients and help them return function and return home again. Variety of patient diagnoses to work with, Orthopedic, CVA, COPD, Pneumonia, general surgery, general weakness. Diverse cultural staff. Team approach.

ConsProductivity standards are 90 % for Physical Therapist Assistants, 85% for PT's. If it is too slow, must go home early.

Advice to Senior ManagementCompliment staff on what they do well.

    Decent company to work for.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsRehabCare offers flexible scheduling, which is great for parents who need time off for sick children and school holidays etc.

ConsTo much emphasis on put on productivity as opposed to patient care. Management staff not always available for communication, and it seems some employees are allowed to do what ever they want, while others really work hard to do their jobs professionally.
