    Pros

    Good Salary and reasonable Benefits

    Cons

Lack.of care for Employees. Strategically removing older veterans from the Original Lance company through any means available and for little or no reason. They will buy you off with a Exit package if need be just to get rid of Legacy Lance Employees.

    Advice to Management

Quit practicing such blatant Snyders Legacy cronyism. And blatant dismissal of Lance Legacy Managers and other Employees.

  2. Poor management and no appreciation for employees

    Pros

Pay is pretty good for the job

    Cons

Horrible management, not family oriented, too many meetings, demand you to work over when your shift is almost up or make a mandatory weekend on Friday when it's near time to clock out. Always last minutes changes and no care in the world if you have a family or arrangements. No leadership whatsoever. Would not hire the temps in to help with the scheduling. During the summer especially, there are 7 day work weeks with 12 hours shifts throughout. Then winter comes and you're down to 3 days a week. They do not seem to appreciate or value their employees. No plant manager, technically yes, but he works out of Indiana at another plant and we rarely saw him to address issues. Except for 2-3 team leaders, the rest are horrible at managing a team. There have been layoffs recently and a lot of downsizing, and it is NO surprise!

    Pros

Make great friendships with local employees, always in a different location visiting stores, company vehicle

    Cons

Micro management, upper management is only worried about making their annual bonus, hostile threating work environment (i.e.- if you don't do this, you wont be working here)

    Advice to Management

Remember where the majority of the work is performed, and who you are stepping on to get your bonus.. most of all, send out a positive message to all involved instead of negative feedback ALL THE TIME

    Pros

The ability to make sales and build great business relationships equals great $$

    Cons

Management doesn't understand the difference between an IBO and an employee.

    Advice to Management

Follow through and realize the IBO is an important part to Snyders-lance

    Pros

Co-workers are great to work with. Good teamwork

    Cons

Need new management. They want respect from employees, but employees get no respect from them..Way to many overtime hours..Can't schedule vacation days that you want..Supervisors treat employees terrible. Was a much better place to work before the merger..

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees with RESPECT!!! Be willing to listen to your employees about bad management, especially supervisors in the company..Hire more people, working to many hours !!

    Pros

Most of the people who work here are great. Ballantyne is also a nice area to work in.

    Cons

Unfortunately, leadership is horrible at this company. There are no career tracks or goals for a "next step." You do get to learn a lot about the CPG world as you will have to wear many hats because this company is run so lean. There is no communication from management or even within teams.

I would not suggest working here if you are trying to find a company in which to advance within. Most people end up leaving because they do not promote from within and pay is notoriously low.

Leadership is also extremely political and known "issues" are often swept under the rug by HR and Sr. Management.

    Advice to Management

    Fire yourselves

    Pros

When you purchase a route you are essentially buying a stream of income - which is fine.

    Cons

The training and especially the support is a joke. After spending six figures on a route you would think they would train you in a professional manner and answer all your questions when you are new, that is not the case at S-L.

    Advice to Management

Train your new IBO's properly. Instead of having them ride with the IBO that is selling the route, combine that experience with high level training commensurate with the amount of money paid by new IBO's.

    Pros

Snyder's of Hanover was a very good company that had much going for it. Since the merger, all they care about is stock price. Which, all the SR. executives have a stake. So, the idea of empowering employees has gone by the wayside. Now, even with SOH executives, the only concern is how hard we can make our people work so we can get ours... Not very transparent. Sorry, this was supposed to be pros'.

    Cons

Leadership is not existent. "just do it" is not leadership. Too many "yes" men. Leadership really does not care about the people. Who goes to an outside agency to create your company values and then says, "here they are, live em". Company is prime to be sold as current leadership is incapable of understanding true leadership and how to get results.

    Advice to Management

Change your values to - Could careless about employees, stab your friends in the back, employees are pawns, show me the money etc.

    Pros

I have personally learned a lot working here because you have to wear 10 hats as they keep staff lean. Training was actually excellent for my dept.

    Cons

The nicest people keep getting quietly let go or forced out which makes for BAD morale. Workloads are unbearable and stressful.

    Advice to Management

Keep the people you've invested in. Educate public on major packaging changes like Lance- people don't recognize it.
