    Horrible is the word!

    I worked at Sogeti

    Pros

    Absolutely none. There is no work and India is only a backend for them. Most of the work happens onsite and offshore team is only leveraged for validation or small bits of work.

    Cons

    1. Horrible management team sitting at Mumbai
    2. They harass employees to the limit of calling them back to office for trifling matters once they are half way back home.
    3. Some incompetent bunch of senior members expect employees to take late night calls sitting at office.
    4. They create issue for even women taking a single work from home a month, even when they have an emergency situation with their children at home.
    5.Your boss will never respond to any clarifications seeked.
    6. I was on the verge of lodging a grievance and harassment case with the corporate hr against the sogeti Mumbai senior management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Learn to appreciate talent, and come out of your nasty mindset of simply troubleling employees.

    Learn to respect women and enable them with flexible environments. Stop passing sexist and discriminatory remarks in meetings.

    Pros

    Only you get salary on time.
    Work life is good as many project on support so no much work...

    Cons

    many ..... few of them are given below
    1 Worst management
    2 all the projects are on support ... so no more to gain the knowledge.
    3 no onsite travel.
    4 extremely worst for the people for those who does not work on .Net
    5 Maximum head count for a project is 20 to 25 ... hence no vertical growth.

    good salary. else nothing is good here. at some departments work may be good and cool even without work for a long time .

    not good for good technical persons. i advice a proper talented technical guy not to join in sogeti india, bangalore

    Pros

    No value to employees, they will decide to remove the employees with out giving any prior notice if they have no projects.

    Cons

    Worst management, they unnecessarly pull our legs and later no one cares for the employess and if something goes wrong they will remove the employees abruptly.

    I worked at Sogeti full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - No insurance premiums
    - reasonable starting salaries
    - paid bench
    - education stipend is generous, if you can get them to approve your expenses
    - some people in management/sales are actually really nice and are trying to be good people, they just work for a company that doesn't support/enable that

    Cons

    - no support from management
    - poor treatment of employees and customers: threatened to sue both me and my client when i left
    - threatened to sue me for a breach of employee agreement by going to work for my client (not technically a violation, as it's not consulting services), though other people who left at the same time to work for their clients received no such threat
    - bonus structure is an absolute joke - recruiters love to tout "the opportunity for a $20,000 bonus!" but you will be lucky if you get $2,500.
    - no support for working mothers - i had to pump in a locker room, where i got walked in on by male cleaning staff
    - almost no annual compensation increase, and no communication about it last year
    - mixed messages: consistent emails saying how well the company is doing, funding bonuses at 102%, but consultants taking salary cuts
    - really poor morale in the office
    - mandatory evening events scheduled with a week's notice
    - not a ton of diversity in clients, though that may be changing
    - even when my client manager specifically told sogeti he wanted me to take a particular training class, they said they wouldn't let me pay for it with the education stipend they talk up while recruiting you.
    - local and even some national leadership doesn't seem to be able to handle pressure well

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - treat your consultants like they are actually people, not walking dollar signs
    - don't be surprised when everyone who is good at their job leaves
    - don't burn bridges when your consultants leave. it's a small world, and you don't want them having horror stories to share

    - 0 amount of training( i am a graduate) despite being promised that they will train and build skillset
    - below average salary
    - your treated as a cash coe

    If you work here, you're a consultant. The money was good. I liked a lot of the people.

    Cons

    The benefits have gone downhill. The bonus structure is complicated and difficult to understand. This won't be a good experience for you unless you are a consultant who likes to sell. Sales is what they reward. Also, it's a true consulting company, so you get what comes along with being a consultant. There is not really a bench policy anymore. I was let go after 3 days on the bench. My boss was replaced by someone who just wanted to cut costs (that's what his bonus is based on). The new guy let people go so that he could get a better bonus. At Sogeti you are seen as $$$, not as a person.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop worrying so much about the bottom line and invest more in the people. No one is going to work there if they know you're going to let them go as soon as they're on the bench. Also, replace the Cincinnati management.

    They lure you with false promises

    Cons

    I was hired for a position that never existed. I ended up waiting for a project for 2 months , kept getting a response from management that they would place me at the earliest. Nothing materialized and they showed me the door saying I was not a good fit. I realized in 2 months that they just a staffing company and not a solution provider as they claim. Management is pathetic and HR is even worse. They have such a weak relationship with their clients.

    Shut down this unit.

    Pros

    Big offers to make you dream of career growth, Educational assistance upto 12 grand a year, 150% 401K Contribution etc..

    But dreams will remain as dream.. They will terminate you before your 401K vesting start (within 3 years)
    They will never approve your educational expense request..
    You will be terminated as soon as your billing ends..

    A big Sham and a big shame for Cap Gemini for carrying this brand

    They will not promote any career growth, educational assistance and terminate you before your 401K company contribution gets vested

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Please take out all the attractive benefits and accept that you are like a contracting company who wil terminate employees as they complete their billing engagement

    Pros

    - place where you will definitely end up getting a job
    - reason for above is consultants do not stay here for long unless they have a personal limitation ( family or otherwise) and there is no reason they should unless they have a personal limitation ( family or otherwise)
    - anyone looking to join should plan well in advance their priorities and manage their expectations
    - my advice would be to go with the flow in this unit and don't be surprised if you get a whole new flavor of consulting experience

    Cons

    - certainly not a place for technical consultants
    - neither a place for young aspiring candidates to hope for an awesome start to their careers
    - don't be surprised with workplace politics in this unit ; higher ups spend more time dealing/creating politics and serving self interests than focusing on growing the company or people or finding projects

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - manage the culture crisis and the talent crisis in Seattle unit
    - invest in right kind of talent especially at the higher end of the hierarchy in this unit
    - I had heard some great things about Sogeti from people who worked long back that was the reason I joined, I was definitely disappointed to see the current failing state
    - Seattle unit needs a total re-haul - do that re-haul
    - as with anything persistence pays - so good luck with your efforts!
