State Farm is a great company to work for.

Intern - Hourly (Current Employee) Melville, NY (US)

ProsState Farm treats their workers very well. The agent I worked for was very demanding but still very understanding. The office operated very well and everyone got along.

ConsAs with all insurance, there are many unsatisfied customers that are angry when they call.

Advice to Senior ManagementGive each agency more freedom rather than strict corporate rules.

    Great People

    Summer Intern (Former Employee)

ProsPeople are incredibly willing to help you and answer your questions. I was an intern there and was able to reach out to people from all over and from all levels of the company.

They are willing to let you learn new things. I am an English major but was given the opportunity to make a web page for the internal site

ConsMy second summer interning at State Farm wasn't as great because I was not given meaningful projects to work on.

Great Program. Learned a lot about the industry.

    Intern (Current Employee)

ProsOther employees worked with were great and very helpful. Treated like a normal employee. Given very realistic preview of the normal office routine. Great support.

ConsNot many. Kind of slow at times but that is to be expected. If your interested in a summer internship program, State Farm is a great place to look.

Advice to Senior ManagementContinue the program to keep younger employees with a lot of talent looking at the company for a career.
