Pros – there are no pros of the company.
Cons – bad management, too long stretch, no overtime, no night allowances, less hike, no future, bad pantry, bad cafeteria, internal politics played in the company.
Advice to Senior Management – needs to give more attention on the above mentioned fields.

Current Employee – been working at Syntel full-time for more than a year
Pros – * Overall good systems put in place in terms of Support Functions, Trainings
* STEP and SCALE initiates are good systems, however the actual use is very minimal
Cons – * No Direct Connect with Leadership Team, despite insights, Letters, But no hearing or fair play
* STEP and SCALE are in Theory, Practically Have seen it fail in several in Engagements, Instead of Performance, Preference rules :(
* HR Leaders - As expected evaluate performance based on 1 feedback of 365 days with dotted line manager
* Be careful about actual JD and the one put into Hard Copy, 99% chances are that it will vary.
* Babu culture ( Keep your Manager Happy and you will get the best , Always please Manager instead of working Actual Facts Figure Finance details, Risk Ignorance, etc. )
Advice to Senior Management – * Please make STEP more meaningful, provide feedback in Quarters instead of all of sudden Appraisals without discussions and release of ratings.
* Please use 360 degrees rating system and publish to Syntelligence ( Intranet ) including Managers, Leaders.
* Give Mid-Senior Management the confidence of Trust, Integrity and Reward N Recognition culture for the ones who highlights RISKS, Bring New Customers
* Please Hire with exact Roles Responsibilities Designation Band Grade, Don't deviate once resource (s ) join and put them under Practice instead of Delivery ( specialized domain area )
* BU Heads Client Partners and Delivery Directors should all treat employees equally irrespective of Cast Creed Religion or Color. There is strong feeling amongst many Senior Level Managers on this.
* Please don't foster culture of favorism, Reward and Appraise on Performance, Feedback, Values instead of Personal Conflicts coming between BU Head and Sr Managers

Current Employee – been working at Syntel full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Early onsite opportunity
Good start for freshers
Nice campus
CEO Connect
Cons – Horrible appraisal process
Salary & perks are so pathetic that they cant say they are paid by MNC
bad food courts & toooo costly
If u r manager likes, no matter what u'll survive
Advice to Senior Management – Check for the Attrition in AP level, upper management have different vision & views, but middle management is pathetic, only politics & they behave like it is their dad's company... high time to rewrite the polices

Former Employee – worked at Syntel
Pros – Good infrastructure and work life balance .
Cons – Poor and lazy management.
Seldom listen to employees.
Just believes in freshers to finish the project.
Advice to Senior Management – Don't throw experienced people out of company just for cost cutting reasons.
Don't believe that every work can be done with freshers alone.
Remember LEGACY comes from experience and it will give success and growth to the company.

Former Employee – worked at Syntel full-time for more than a year
Pros – You can get good package here. Bargain with others on offer from Syntel.
Cons – No respect to human values, pathetic transport system, failed management , you can see it reflecting in missed revenue target of being 1b company in 2010 and it will definitely fail to achieve 2b company target in 2015.
Advice to Senior Management – If possible try to retrospect on human values, company profit is bi-product of satisfied employees..

Current Employee – been working at Syntel full-time for less than a year
Pros – Only advantage is you will get a better salary when you join .....
Cons – 1) No support from Vertical Heads (PM/DM/DD/VP) etc --- When something goes wrong then they just put blame on Developers & PL ... If everything goes good then they are ready to take the credit..
2) Most of the projects are filled with Graduate Trainees (Just out of college and having a basic training for 2 months on various s/w) ---- 50% of the project billability is by Trainees. This will increase the burden on rest of the senior resources with experience around 3-5 Years. They have to struggle day and night.
3) Shuffling resources between technologies --- they just don’t care about the career of their employees. Some cases are, a) Java resources are sent for manual testing b) they put resource to java for a month then to .NET for another one month and then to abinitio for another few weeks ….
4) NO refund of expenses – they promise to refund the cab/food expenses but they never keep their promise
5) Weekend/extended hours work – they force people to come during weekend or stay beyond 9 PM. They don’t provide proper transportation and food for this. If anybody oppose then they will be sent to HR for termination.
6) No proper response from various departments like HR, Payroll, Admin etc ….
7) No work satisfaction
8)
Advice to Senior Management – Most of the vertical are behaving like small companies inside syntel and they emphasis their own rules and regulations, not company policies. Please take action to address the above issues.

Current Employee – been working at Syntel
Pros – Working in projects gives good exposure to technology and there is client interaction as well.
Cons – All senior people are biased and have formed a group of people who favor each other
Do not have respect to their subordinates
Do not keep their promises.
Common benefits are also given to selective people.
Rules are always broken by senior peoples.
False resumes are presented to client to grab the positions.
New policies are implemented on past dates.
The organization is not open in Apprasial feedback and process. Also lot of disparity in level of experience and kind of renumaration offered. You will find it difficult to grow only by trying to harness your talent.
Advice to Senior Management – Try to recognize people based on their experience and job talent rather then the time they spend with management doing useless gossips.
Syntel should concentrate more on software quality and talent retention, rather than only money making attitude and employee ignorance.
