    Pros

    Company benefits are way above others. Very generous! Good job!

    Cons

    As a newly acquired employee, they have treated us like second class citizens, talking down to us, and come across completely uncoordinated in their approach toward acquisitions.

    A cast of thousands all doing their own thing with no communication and coordination amongst each other.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Figure out your acquisition strategy and figure it out.

    Free lunch, unlimited free snacks, great italian coffee machines all over the bldg and refrigerators stocked with every drink imaginable

    Cons

    There is no flow of information, no transparency and if you are not at the top of the food chain of management it's as if you don't exist

    Read these reviews and listen to what people are saying. You can only stay arrogant for so long before the way you treat people catches up with you.

    Great benefits
    very flexible
    some great people

    Cons

    no room for growth
    too flexible - ruins good work habits
    management is seriously bad in a lot of groups
    company is all about the best and the brightest without building a strong foundation first
    CEO has no business sense and lucked into this, his words
    bad employees were allowed to bully people and nothing is done about it

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Clean house at the top
    look within to find great talent, they know your business and have lots of ideas
    speed doesn't win, seriously, it doesn't
    build you business, don't run around like you have ADHD
    create accountability
    get rid of those people who make others miserable

    Great Product but Turnover is a major problem

    Pros

    Free lunches, free food and drinks almost all the time. Young, fast moving culture and a great office space, moving to an even bigger office in the future. Great product, trusted source of travel reviews, company is making money.

    Cons

    Turnover! It seems like most of the groups are being impacted by turnover, a lot of employees have left the company for greener pastures, the performance rating process and raise %'s being very low for a company that is very profitable, seems to be the common thread. The HR team is non-existent, adds no value to the employees or senior management, and has had more turnover than any other group at Trip, even the most senior leader of HR left along with the leader of compensation. Not sure Senior Mgt knows how bad the turnover problem actually is.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Hire a consulting firm to determine the sources for all the turnover, outsource HR until a new team can be built from the ground up. Figure out the retention issue.

    Pros

    Compensation is good and the stock is on a tear. Good place to work if money is the motivation.

    Cons

    Work is not really interesting. You will work on a lot of one week tweak projects. Competitive culture. But also a culture of fear codified by a speed wins mantra. Management is cold and ruthless. Classic corporate America. The company will do well because of its ruthless attitude.

    Couple of token social projects will not really hide the kind of company you really are.

    Cons

    Senior Mgt "strongly encouraging" current employees to write positive reviews on working at Trip. What? Isnt this how Trip makes money and depends on honest unbiased reviews?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Outsource the HR dept that is unprofessional, non-confidential, and adds zero value.
    Create a quarterly bonus program, that will help offset the mass exodus when employees collect their annual bonus.

    Good Company Culture, and colleagues are friendly and mature enough to work closely together.
    Company benefits are fantastics.
    Strong sales-team members.

    Cons

    Poor Management in APAC Business Listing, no guidance, no vision, no direction, and only one way communication which management did not take any action for every challenges that sales person feedback to them.

    Sales Organization is led by Regional Sales manager who did not make any single call and not knowing the product and the market condition.

    Sales Structured is very un-clear internally and externally.

    Favoritism is too obvious.

    Management did not protect every single deal that you bring in. And in fact we always encounter lost some of the deals to 3rd party reseller who can offer more discount to the client.

    Management keep hiring new sales person even the market is bad and saturated.

    No career growth in the company, you will be doing the same thing for years and many years.

    Commission pay-out always delayed and happened many times, and they don't see the urgency and importance to pay commission in time. what a joke, this is sales organization, every sales person are rely on commission on their living!

    If you resign from the company - no holding back from the company, basically they will just accept and did not try to retain the employee. - just keep hiring new staff.

    TripAdvisor HQ needs to review the senior management in APAC Business Listing, and also have a one to one meeting with the individual sales person on the floor to ask feedback what's the challenge and how to overcome it and how to make it better.
