    Pros

Great place to sharpen professionalism. The place is oozing with it. Probably because of the people...

    Cons

People are expendable. Else, their juice is valuable, definitely not their development.

No wonder, the place is used as a stepping stone by many.

Respect for systems managing business integrity is a mere formality. The financials are paramount

In the past, this organisation HAS stood up for it's geo-economic equity...

    I worked at Unilever

    Pros

There is a clear classism and racial bias in the company.

    Cons

There is a clear classism and racial bias in the company. HR managers need more cross cultural training and the company needs to hire upper management that practice humility and should learn to work with middle and lower management with compassion not passion for their egos. People of color are often hired just for the company to say they are diverse but tenure for colored people is low because of racial discrimination. Also, prepare for a lot of ethnocentric upper management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do more cross cultural training the EEOC details are not just for you to post on boards and intranet.

    I worked at Unilever

    Pros

    Good company culture, very inclusive

    Cons

    Lowest pay versus competitors.
No recognition unless you are a 'favourite'.
Strong emphasis on short term opportunities which increases stress levels throughout the business.
Long hours and poor work/life balance, you are expected to put in the extra hours with little to no acknowledgement.
A lot of people become comfortable and do an 'ok' job, they are kept on purely so as not to offend.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Series of staff cut-backs has led to a stressful working environment. Has also meant that opportunities for progression have severely been reduced.
Need to address the bigger issue and stop focusing so much on the short-term.
Very slow to react to the rest of the market and its competitors, this will set Unilever back in the next few years.
