    Pros

    The people you work with are mostly young and driven. Work from home option.

    Cons

    - HR and upper Management one of the worst I have ever experienced
    - Level ups and comp increase heavily depended on how well you cuddle up to HR or upper Management
    - frequent late nights and weekend work
    - no transparency for anything from Level ups to why certain Studios are preferred over others

    Advice to Management

    wake up and look at who is really working and reward those, take away some power from HR

    Pros

    1. Very good engineers to work with, but even there the quality is going down with recent hiring and lot of good people have left due to rampant nepotism
    2. Decent food

    Cons

    1. If you are an engineer this is probably one of the worst places to work. You will often be bossed by people with no skills whasoever. In Zynga they are called Producers. Literally anybody becomes a producer here, any QA, english writers, or so called community specialists, literally anyone who knows the right boots to lick

    2. HRs control too many things. The quarterly evaluation they tell you about is a joke. There is no transparency and Engineering managers have no say in appraisals. It is a close group who always keep getting the best. If you don't know how to play this game of thrones, this is not the place for you

    3. Overall there is no sense of direction and you have very little control on you career direction. Today you are working one one project and tomorrow you will be put to a different project without any direction and no explanations given to you.

    4. There is no transparency in any process they follow.

    5. Many IIM grads. who believe they know everything are actually sinking the company. They all are trained to chase very short term goals here, as a result company is suffering. Add to that these recent graduate can actually make a senior engineer's life tough.

    6. I have not come across a single good game designer in India. This is sort of understandable given there aren't any good game design institutes in India. But, here the problem is that these mediocre people are calling the shots.

    7. Your technical growth stops in this company because you are always chasing short term goals, without a moment to stop and think. At times you are even expected to do data entry kind of work, and then they come up with phrases like Zynga first to justify this.

    8. Best way to grow in this company if you are an engineer is a) Create a problem yourself b) Solve it couple of days later c) Send a big mail as to how you have solved the biggest problem, add in a few made up numbers, tie up with a Product manager to add in an excel sheet with all sort of manipulated information. It never fails to work.

    Advice to Management

    All that glitters is not gold. Have a re-look at your quarterly review process. There are many people in this office being paid for no real work. Stop those expenses rather than cutting out benefits from deserving people

    Pros

    If one is a freaher it is a good place to start off with since they pay well to attract talent.
    Food , food, food if you are going to enjoy this please join...
    GM's are extremely talented and a good lot to work with but the corruption is so high that it takes away the pleasure of working with these people.

    Cons

    The crime party - Country Manager, Ops managers, HR head, HR manager..... If you would like to understand how corruption works Zynga is the best place to get this information... The management here mainly takes care of their own pockets and ensures that the lions share of bonuses fall into their pockets. The crime party never lets down each other.... The vendors they use are all names sakes of the crime party and they make a killing in each and every deal.
    HR openly supports fraud and prides sexual harrassment... and you can succeed in this place only if ypu are one amongst them. TRANSPARENCY is non existent in any of the dictionaries of the management..They like to make the US feel that "ALL IS WELL".
    The management lacks maturity in dealing with any any situations. Escalations go to the Country Manager and HR Head who are not people who cannot think independently and take decisions, their decisions are based on favouritism and the degree of consequence depends on how well an employee licks these peoples boots.......
    Its a mini version of how politicians work in our country for their own benefit.

    Advice to Management

    Let Zynga make some money please!!!!

    >> Attitude of HR [Big heads] as Appraisal, Perks & Compensation is in their Hands. Never seen a company like this before.
       Its like supreme power given to Monkeys, their experience & Maturity level is way below their knees. Professionalism, Culture & Ethics is absolutely shitty.
    >> Only people who lick HR boots get good hikes & perks, all other dedicated employees are ignored.
    >> Not a place for prompt, disciplined, silent & smart workers.
    >> HR promises many things while offering, hardly keep such promises.

    Advice to Management

    >> Try to recognise people with open mindedness. Dont presume things & reward people of your choice.
    >> All that glitters is not Gold, recognise individual's contribution towards work than their licking/boasting capabilities.
    >> Stop playing with people's career. Day is not too far where everyone will witness the ship sinking.
    >> Follow the 3M rule: Effective utilisation of Men, Material & Money - Core thing missing in Zynga [Colossal waste of 3M].

    Pros

    Food. Good enough facilities. Amiable security staff (nothing else to write !!)

    In Zynga India HR and ceratain bosses has the ultimate say against any reason & justification. haughty and ludicrous HR top. Top notch favoritism. Shameless mouth-blabbering wins over dedication and skill. Corruption in art-outsourcing. The manager who initiated large amount art-outsourcing to certain indian companies draws huge amounts from them as fringe-benefit, monthly. preposterous country manager.

    Basicaly The top bosses wants to pocket as much dollars as possible from USA, while all this lasts. This is a place for mouth-blabbers, smart-talkers and shameless butt-kissers. Not a place for skilled folks who consider there careers important.

    Advice to Management

    Enjoy your life. But remember, if you are unethical and rotten to your subordinates , it reflects everywhere, even to yourself. Why this life?

    Pros

    Good food. Good compensation. There is nothing else good about Zynga.

    Cons

    The HR has control over everything that happens at Zynga.
    Performance does not matter
    Way too much office politics
    Career growth takes a backseat
    Contract employees are treated like crap
    The money and employees are underutilized.
    Its a sinking ship and nothing is being done to revive it.
    Very unorganised in general.

    Advice to Management

    Come up with new better and creative games and not just improvise on the same old existing games.
    There s way too much money spent on keeping the employees enterained which is a waste sometimes.

    Food, Rich in benefits. free massages. free food. free coffee

    Cons

    First, I am not a bitter X employee. I left on my own terms after 6 months and ran like the wind. Prior to joining this organization, I was told by several X co-workers to stay away. I wanted to learn on my own. Sure, you can bring your dog, they offer 3 free meals a day, have a cool gym, and an open vacation policy. Taking a day off is nearly impossible given the amount of guilt and pressure they put on you.

    They aren't making any new games and their direction changes daily. Change is good in tech, however, this place changes way too much and causes fear among employees. The exec team and their EA’s have some attitude like they are the hot place to be. They need to get over themselves given the state of the company and a stock price at $2 a share! There is a head EA that is bulldog that can’t be trusted. She told one of the EA’s on my group that if they don’t do things her way they will be gone.

    The CEO is not well rated but to be fair the original founder destroyed management and was not well liked.

    Zynga had its day – stay clear of this joint and the exec team. It’s falling apart at the seams. There are SO many other great places in the valley to settle for this place. This place is an outside recruiter’s playground!

    Start over with entire new exec team

    Pros

    Smart co workers and some fun people

    Cons

    Most people work themselves to death and the managers reward them for it, if you don't work 80 hour weeks you get looked down upon and excluded

    Rework your entire management structure and company culture, it sucks
