Declined Offer – Interviewed in Hamilton, OH (US) – Reviewed May 12, 2013 New
Interview Details I got a call about two weeks after applying online. They told me to come in and only had certain dates they were interviewing and certain times. Ended up being a group interview with about 4 other people. He asked us all the same questions, and we went in line basically and ordered them. It took about 2 hours for the interview. I am not a big fan of group interviews and I also wasn't told it was going to be one, so I wasn't exactly excited for it.
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining – I did not apply for Cashier, I applied to work on the sales floor, but instead they offered me a cashier job. They start everyone out at minimum wage. I have three years of experience as a cashier, and I should be getting paid more than that.

Interview Details
Applied for multiple positions online. Was called a week later and asked to come in for an interview the next day. I arrived at Kohl's and was taken into the assistant manager's office. She told me I was being interviewed for an area supervisor position, which made me very excited. She explained the job, the duties, and asked me if I had any questions for her before we moved on. She then went on to the interview questions.
I have not received an offer as of yet.
She told me she would give me a call within 10 days to let me know if I got the job or not, or to come in for another interview.
Interview Question –
None. Very typical interview questions, such as:
Why do you want to work at Kohl's? How do you define customer service? Tell me about a time you went above and beyond to satisfy a customer. Tell me about a time where you could have handled a situation with a customer better. What did you like and dislike about your previous job? etc.....

Interview Details For supervisor positions you generally meet and interview with the Store Manager and then possibly a second interview with an Assistant Manager. I was an internal promote so I only interviewed with my Store Manager.
Negotiation Details – I actually was not offered the position at first. I talked myself into a "working interview" which is how I actually got the position. The raise was more than I expected.
