Interview Details Hiring and Interview process is very easy. If you just go in like a normal person you will likely get hired. They are all standard run of the mill questions, Tell me about yourself, Strengths and weaknesses, etc. Honestly, the easiest interview I have ever had. I was hired right on the spot. They tell you all the available positions at the store you want and ask you your first and second choice. I found even if your favorite job is not available, they are almost always hiring all positions. I started in the Deli and within a month and a half I had transferred departments, and within six months I have two promotions and full time status under my belt. They do background checks and drug tests. They said it could take up to two weeks to get a call back. It took less than a week for me, and my boyfriend it took only 3 days. I guess it is based on how badly you are needed. Also, it is useless to inquire at the specific store you want to work. Kroger has hiring centers and associates at the stores can't help. They will only direct you to apply online.
Interview Question – No question was difficult. Just google common interview questions and answers, and it's likely that is all will be asked. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – No negotioation. They have a starting rate. It is likely minimum wage. If you have experience with Kroger you can negotiate for a larger raise.
No Offer – Interviewed in Carrollton, GA (US) Apr 2013 – Reviewed Apr 25, 2013
Interview Details An absolutely horrible interview process. There were about 20 of us in a room sitting around in a circle. Each of us were asked to describe ourselves, etc. They told four of us to come up from and he told us that we were not going to be offered a position. I should point out I was one of the few people being interviewed who had grocery experience and one of the few who is currently employed at a grocery store. I guess experience in grocery does not matter at Kroger.

Accepted Offer – Interviewed on Blanchester, OH (US) Jun 2011 – Reviewed Apr 18, 2013
Interview Details I first applied online and had to go through a "personality" test. I have heard in the past that you have to "pass" the test in order for them to even look at your application. Then I received a phone call to schedule an interview. The first scheduled time of the interview the interviewer did not show up so we had to reschedule. During the interview he asked some basic questions, then gave me a drug test and said that they didn't waste money on drug tests for people they didn't plan to hire, but he couldn't officially offer me the job until the drug test came back
Interview Question – They were all pretty easy Answer Question
Negotiation Details – none, it was minimum wage

Interview Details Interviews are relatively standard. They want to know about strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, times that you have failed to achieve a goal, times where you have succeeded in achieving a goal. For a department head or backup position you will be interviewed by a manager for all other positions below that level it will be with a hiring coordinator. They only call for one interview and usually get back to you withing 2weeks of interviewing
Interview Question – Name a time you failed in achieving a set goal. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – No negotions they are union so there is a set pay based upon position

Interview Details The first stage of my interview process was a video conference interview with a Division H.R. Management recruiter at my District office. The next step is a phone interview with a District H.R. manager and a Store manager which I have next week. After that is a panel interview.
Interview Question – I think the most difficult question for me was my expected salary. I didn't want to undersell myself but I didn't want to overprice myself either. I gave them a base salary but said I was negotiable. Answer Question
