Interview Details It was pretty easy. Asked all situational questions. They are expecting you to answer with the star model. Be prepared to get hired if you nail the first two interviews. Remember this is retail management no matter what position you are hired for.

Negotiation Details – There isn't a negotiation phase. you start at the base. There is a regional pay adjustment if you work in a metro area.

Interview Details I first applied online at the Sam's Club website. A couple of days later, I received a phone call asking if I was interested in coming in for an interview. I accepted, and they set up a day and time for the following week. I showed up fifteen minutes early for my interview and waited by the foodcourt. My interviewer showed up and was very nice and outgoing which made me a little more calm and relaxed. She asked all behavioral and situational questions using the STAR method, which all were pretty easy to answer. After the interview, she had given me the option to come back later that afternoon for a second interview. The second interview was pretty much the same as the first where they ask another set of situational questions using the STAR method,again which all were easy to answer. When the interview was finished, she said that I would get a call the next day. It ended up being a couple days later(about 5)when I received another call offering me the position.

Interview Details I went to a military hiring event and was really just going to hopefully get a practice interview in as I prepared to retire from the military. I've always liked Sam's Club but retail wasn't really something I was looking at. This event was specifically for MIT. Initially, there was a 45 minute presentation on the management career path. After this they told those of us that had interviews to go to them (I didn't) and told the rest of us to mingle with the remaining managers. I just started engaging in conversation with managers and eventually found the one for the town I was interested in. He asked if I had an interview scheduled and I told him no, then he asked to see my resume and after reviewing it checked their online database to see if I had applied online and if I had passed the assessment (I had but didn't know that until he told me.) I was then scheduled and interviewed by two store managers. As others have mentioned they had a standard list of questions for this interview. I had no previous retail experience but has 20+ years of military experience so I answered with similar type situations I had been confronted with. I found both ladies very friendly and it made the interview very relaxing and allowed me to be myself. During the interview I was also allowed to ask questions and asked both ladies about their career paths to store management. After this interview they told me to hang around and they'd be right back with me. A few minutes later I was approached by the manager who had initially set me up for an interview and was then taken to a table where I conducted another interview with him and another store manager. The first question I was asked was "why retail?" I explained that I hadn't really even thought about retail until I started researching "management training jobs" and I noticed that Sam's Club showed up several times during my research and that people seemed to enjoy the culture there and the opportunity for advancement. After this interview I was asked where my preference to train was and I told them which seemed to cause some concern as I was a late interviewee and they had already extended some offers for that location. I was told to hang out while they talked to someone. He came back a few minutes later with the HR person and again I was lead to a table where I was told they loved me and wanted to extend an me a job offer. I thought overall the interviews were fairly simple but I can honestly say the 6 people who interviewed me and the probably 5 other managers and assistant managers I talked with during the course of the day were very forth coming about working in retail and also the culture and advancement opportunity with Sam's Club. I was really impressed with the entire way the day was conducted from the presentation at the beginning until the job offer (which had never even entered my mind when I went up there just to check out Sam's Club.)

Negotiation Details – I was able to negotiate a later start date by about 2 months as it was mutually beneficial to both myself and Sam's Club.

Interview Details you have to go through an supervisor which pretty much asks you basic interview questions. you go through a manager which clarifies what you were previously asked. like what would you do in this type of situation type things....drug testing....wait for results....hired!!

Negotiation Details – i didnt really have to negotiate because the pay was fair

Interview Details It seemed they were hurting for associates, I was called before I finished the application. I sat with HR for 10min and they offered me the job. I'll admit I'm probably very over qualified for the position.

Interview Details I have been involved with the colligate program, Enactus, at BYUH (one of the top Enactus schools in the nation). At a regional competition I approached the Sam's Club career fair table. My resume was taken and I was asked to interview that day. My interview was very welcoming as they genuinely tried to get to know me. I was surprised to be offered a job at the end of the interview. I really enjoyed my interviewing experience with Sam's Club, not only did it make me feel as though I could clearly express my value to the company but it also gave me a greater understanding of how valuable this experience could be for me.

Negotiation Details – My initial job offer is the MIT program with a set hourly rate. Then after 12 weeks I'll negotiate for the Assistant Manager Position.

Interview Details Online app...called a month later for interview. Interview was with 2 people then another then store manager. Each asked 3 or more questions. Took about an 1 1/2 hours then they make you sign a form for a drug test. You must take the drug test that day. About a week later they call you and tell you the next day is orientation. They do not tell you pay or when you will work. Thought it was a full time job until I met with the store manager and told me they only hire part time then when available u go to full time. No idea what the work hours are. No structure at all. Will add more later.

Negotiation Details – Have no idea what is going on. Waiting for orientation.
