Application Details

I applied online. The process took 1 week - interviewed at The Home Depot in May 2013.

Interview Details

I completed the application online, the process took two, got a call for a phone interview and then I scheduled an interview. Went to the interview, spoke with the Front End Supervisor, interview took 25 minutes, asked a series of questions and got offered the job on the spot and I accepted the offer. Home Depot are always in need of cashiers and they pay well starting off.

The HR was an hour and a half late for my interview, claiming she did not remember we even had one. She was not prepared at all, and told me she was hungover from the night before. She called all the managers and no one wanted to interview me. I was there for over 3 hours and I got the job right after the interview was over.

I applied online. The process took 1 week - interviewed at The Home Depot in July 2013.

    Interview Details

I filled out the application online just to see if I was even gonna get called in for a interview and for location I put three down which are 1. Fishkill, NY 2. Wappingers Falls, NY 3. Poughkeepsie, NY and when someone from the Wappingers Falls store called me I wasn't near my phone so they left me a voicemail message and so I called them back and was able to setup a interview with the store manager and so I went and the lady who called me walked me to the back of the store where I met the store manager and he brought me into his office and interviewed me and he pretty much asked me all the usual questions and told me I would get a call from him within the next week or so and I never did!

I applied online. The process took 1 week - interviewed at The Home Depot in July 2014.

    Interview Details

After going through an absolutely ridiculous online application process in which I was not really sure if my application was initially submitted...I got a phone call the SAME morning I was emailed to be notified I would be receiving the call. They did not even mention an exact time, just a time frame of 4 hours.

    Interview Questions
    • What was unexpected is that I could not really understand the person doing the interview so most of the time I was guessing the questions and everything she was saying....I am not a racist person nor judgmental in any way except in emergency situations. I believe it was unfair to have someone with an extremely strong accent to interview people for HOME DEPOT....if I was able to actually talk to the person rather than be drilled like I was a criminal I am sure I would have been working there by now. How hard is it to scan products and help people people I have THREE CHILDREN AND KNOW PLENTY ABOUT HELPING AND SCANNING :)   Answer Question

Short phone interview, In person interview, and drug screening directly after...very slow to call though...very slow to get me in for initial training...then you spend a couple weeks doing "Rapid Web Based Training" Depending on your position you might have more or less training to do. Aside from that it was just paperwork and waiting three weeks for the drug screening results

I applied online - interviewed at The Home Depot in July 2014.

    Interview Details

Process started with automated phone questions which anyone could answer. Then I was transfered to a live person who asked me several more questions. I was told after answering the questions that I had passed that portion of the interview process. Then that live person scheduled a face to face interview at the local Home Depot store. Face to face interview at store was with a woman who seemed like she could care less about me, the interview, or her job. The interviewer did no make eye contact with me, she seemed distracted, and was unprofessional. She gave me very little information and did not explain to me the purpose for, or the reason why, she was requesting certain information from me. The interview lasted about ten minutes. Two weeks passed and I got a call from the lady who interviewed me requesting that I provide a state I.D. in order for them to run a background check. I was asked at that time if I was still interested in a position at Home Depot. I was told that the position I applied for was no longer available but they were considering me for other positions but did not tell me which ones.
