Interview Details I was moving from out of town, so a majority of communication was initially over the phone. Upon arranging a meeting, I drove into town for the day to take 3 interviews at separate companies. Being my last interview of the day, I was pleasantly surprised at the informality of the interview. Friendly tones and honest discussion/questions.
Interview Question – I don't recall any particularly difficult questions. The interview was more of a conversation than a formal interview. Overall enjoyable experience with no speed bumps. Answer Question

Interview Details
They have implemented a new hiring process for the digital marketing department. The department was launched less than 2 yrs ago.
Step 1 - Phone Screen was very informal. Just asking to go over your resume
Step 2 - Speed Dating (culture fit interview). You along with 8 other people are taken into a bright room with 9 tables pretty close to each other. One team member sits at each table. All the team members introduce themselves to everyone, tell one interesting fact about themselves and how long they have worked at WFM. The majority have worked there 5-7 yrs moving into different departments.
You then have 8 minutes to speak with each team member. Once the 8 minutes are up they stand up and move to the next table. You can hear everyone talking in the room so it is a little hard to concentrate. The questions are very informal since they are just wanting to find out if you fit into the WFM culture and would mesh with the team.
Questions are: Do you shop at WFM? What are your interests? Which project in the past are you most proud of? Some will ask about specific skills informally. They want to know that you love WFM and believe in their 7 core values. (review them prior to going)
The entire team is very friendly and interesting. The ages range from late 20s to 50s. So each person has a very different perspective about working at WFM.
Immediately following the interview the team meets and picks 4 candidates. They have a democratic voting system for everything at WFM. (I suggest researching this info since not having a hierarchy could be challenging for some people. Knowing someone that works there will not help due to this system) After they vote you will be emailed the same day if you make/not make it to the final 4.
Step 3 - Pitch for your job with an assigned project along with the other 3. I can not give details since I did not make the cut. I know you are given several team members to contact to help prepare for the pitch. I assume you find out quickly since the other steps were very fast.

Interview Details Applied on indeed.com , got a call back about a week later. Came in for a interview, spoke with two different associates. Didn't get contacted until two weeks later, then had another interview with store leader.

Interview Details Applied online. And a few days later I got a call from Whole Foods for an interview. I showed up to the interview properly dressed with a copy of my resume. I was interviewed by a Shift Leader and two other Cashiers. I was asked the standard questions. "What are you strengths?" "What do you know about Whole foods?" " How can you contribute to this team?" "What does it mean to be Vegan vs Vegetarian?" "What makes you stand out from the other applicants?". After the interview had concluded they told me that a second interview would be done two days later with the Department Manager and that I would get a call sometime that day. Two hours later, I got a call saying that they liked me and the second interview will be set up. For the second interview I was still dressed properly and brought another copy of my resume. This time the interview was one on one, but asked the same questions. As long as you are confident and smile I think you'll be fine. Unfortunately, they decided to transfer another cashier into the store instead of hiring me. The person who called told me to keep applying as they hoped to hear from me(I don't know how truthful that was, but I re-applied to another job, I have yet to receive a reply).

Interview Details I only went to a Whole Foods once before this interview, It was a standard interview, ask me about past jobs and experience. I applied for a pizza cook, got an email two days later asking if i'll be interested in a dishwashing position to call in. I called and got a one person interview on a friday, about 20 mins. He was happy with me so I got a second interview on Monday. This time I went to the kitchen area and ask for a team leader, she gave me a quick talk, then I got called by the store leader and started the interview. This time it was a two person interview, about 25 mins and I was done. Two days later I receved a call that I got the job.
Interview Question – What do organic means to me? Answer Question
Negotiation Details – Nope, just told me how much with was $10hr but I have a option for promotion in 3 months

Interview Details I was interviewed by four people in two groups of two. Everyone was very relaxed, extremely kind and very pleased to be interacting with me. They asked me why I wanted to work at whole foods. Generally, they are trying to gauge what type of person you are. Whole Foods is very hip and extremely passionate about customer satisfaction. If you are a people person, that is the most important thing they look at. Everyone there is extremely kind and very happy with there job. You must fit into the culture or whole foods isn't for you. This isn't Wal-Mart or Target, the culture is extremely important to Whole Foods.
Interview Question – Don't remember anything specific but generally the hardest questions revolved around why I wanted to work at Whole Foods and questions gauging my customer service abilities. Personality was always the underlining trait they are trying to gauge with the questions. Answer Question

Applied online for "Associate Team Leader," got called in for an interview a week later...for a different job I didn't apply for.
First interview was with an Associate Team Leader. Pretty basic questions. Biggest strengths, weaknesses, what would you last boss say, blah, blah, blah.
A few specific grocery retail questions: importance of rotating stock, preventing shrink/loss, what does GMO and organic mean. Real no-brainer stuff if you've ever worked in grocery.
Got called back for a second interview less than a week later. More of the same, but the Team Leader that interviewed me actually gave me a tour of the store. Asked the me about "gluten free diets" then got confused when I started talking about Celiac Disease. Not a good sign... Ended with a typical, "more people to interview, we'll let you know."
Literally an hour later I got an automated email saying I wasn't being considered for the position any longer.
Never got a response on the job I actually applied for. Oh well.
A college degree and six years in grocery retail management doesn't seem to go a long way to the folks at this Whole Foods.
Interview Question – What are GMO's and organic products was the only question I didn't expect, but certainly not a difficult one. Answer Question

Interview Details I applied online on the company website. Two days late I received a call from an employee, on that call they immediately gave me a phone interview. They asked me what I do at my current job, why I want to work at whole foods, and what does customer service mean to me. At the end of the interview the interviewer advised me to find out more information about the company and invited me to a group interview. The group interview was at the end of that week and it was an intense two hour process. There was about 40 people in the groups. They had each of us answer four Introductory questions about our self. Name, favorite food/activity related to food, why do you want to work at whole foods as opposed to other retailers, why now, and what's your position. (At this point you have to try your best to stand out amongst the others so say something memorable) . After that they made us get into groups. In the the first group presentation we had to describe what customer service meant to us, describe a time when we received bad customer service, and give examples of poor customer service and present it to the class in the group. In the second group presentation we were given a list of the companies core values, We had to pick a value and creates a 30 second commercial for that value and a slogan. After that we were told we would get a call back within the next week if they were interested, I did get a call back and I'm awaiting my interview later on this week, I am very confident that I will receive the job because I am l l know a lot of information about the company and I have years of cash handling experience

Interview Details They called me first, then I drove over for the interview. The interview is conducted sitting in the booths at the front end of the store. This can be very nerve-wracking if you were hoping for a quiet, distraction-free interview environment, but perhaps they're trying to assess your ability to handle the activity of the store. If that interview is successful, they'll call you a few days to a week later to interview with the next-higher-up manager. If this is successful, they'll usually offer you the job on the spot, or tell you that they wish to hire you but you must first interview with the store manager.
Interview Question – "When have you ever had to deal with an uncomfortable situation on the job and how did you handle it?" I was frank and told them about a harassment incident and the store manager seemed impressed with how I handled things, so don't be afraid to give a real example. Or you could just fabricate, it's not like they will call your old boss and say "Hey did you really scream at/punch/stalk/steal from XX employee four years ago?" Answer Question
Reason for Declining – I decided to take a work-study job instead. The traffic to the Whole Foods store was abhorrent, and I was told by two different friends who work there that WF will write you up for being late even if they schedule you to be there during the worst rush-hour times when traffic is at a standstill.
