    I have been working at Collin County Community College full-time (more than 5 years)


    good salary, student-centered faculty, emphasis on quality teaching


    The President, a classic workplace bully, demeans faculty by talking behind their back to other faculty and administrators. He has created a climate of fear and distrust and his passion for confrontation has been adopted by upper administration. Decisions are made that affect the faculty without faculty input and certain "bad cops" are used to intimidate those who speak out against the administration. He makes arbitrary decisions that favor his "pets" and he punishes those who don't play politics (he'll allow a favorite to attend an international conference but won't allow someone else to attend because of the "no international travel" policy - even if both faculty members have been accepted to present original research). The President has created a hostile work environment that is toxic.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    The Board of Trustees should demand anonymous evaluations of upper administration and take the time to listen to students and faculty. Realize that the President shows one face to you and the community and a different face to those he works with.
