    I have been working at Cyberonics full-time for more than a year

    Good benefits and ok salary.

    The Clinical Engineer position is advertised as a core development position. In reality, the people in this position will NOT get promoted and are continuously under stress due to high workload. The management ask employee to participate in "outside" projects on top off working 50+ hours. Many people with high hope and positive attitude will take on more projects (now working 60+ hours); however, when it comes to transferring, the CTS management opposes such a move. This is partly due to very high turn over of the team. In the past 2 years alone, 11 people have quit, 2 managed to transfer to clinical quality engineer (after being with cyberonics for 3+ years), and 1 person (after 2.5 years) transferred to quality engineering group. This position may be "ok" for a new desperate BME graduate but I highly recommend looking for another position immediately.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Make the development plan (which is done annually) happen for the CTS members within 12 to 16 months. Also, increase the number of workforce so that the team doesn't hurt when one person quits.
