Former Employee - Software Developer I in San Diego, CA (US)

I worked at General Atomics full-time (less than a year)

Great benefits and pension (awesome place to work if you're at the point in your career where you just want to cruise to retirement)

You don't have to work hard (my colleague and I were job hunting all technical manager had no technical skills)

Can't advance (engineer I -> engineer II -> engineer III is typically the path and the raise in pay grade is a joke)

A lot of the "managers" in the software side are frauds

You don't get promoted because you're competent, you get promoted because you're "in" with management

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of management in the technical side that are frauds

    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
