I worked at KaBOOM! full-time (more than an year)

The people make this organization fun. They're a great bunch and hard to leave.

If only the board knew how employees really feel. The turnover rate is ridiculous.

-Extreme lack of diversity. Especially for an organization that works with so many populations of people.
-They pick favorites. If you are well connected, name drop or have something they want, you are golden.
-No room for professional growth. However, there's always workload growth.
-depending on the team, you can't voice your opinion out of fear of backlash.
-volunteering is more like volun-told and then called "professional development"
-a survey was done and results seemed to be skewed because at the time almost 50% of the people were new.
    - a couple managers lack experience, common sense and the willingness to do hard work. It's disturbing they fly under the radar because those under them do all the work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in your employees. You hire great people but don't reward them. The high turnover is seriously an issue.
