    I have been working at Royal Mail full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Come in at 6.30am in the morning be in the sorting office for 2-3 hours sorting mail/packets then You are your own boss when your out of the depot, take breaks/lunch whenever you like, no pressure really to get done unless you have a big round. December time if you are on a good round for Christmas you get decent tips from customers.
    Money - Best thing about the job is its well paid for an unskilled job you get to go home early if you finish early too. Overtime rate is good still get paid overtime rate even if you complete your round in your normal working hours.
    Bank holidays you get paid for, sundays always have off. Free stamps at xmas. take home about £340 a week. Would recommend this job if your starting out but don't expect to love it.

    Cons

    Management - Can be harsh at times, sometimes not even interested in what you got to say, If you get caught bringing back any mail expect to receive telling off or even dismissal. Lazy, rude & arrogant towards staff.
    Vans - The vans we drive are always in a bad state they get logged off and supposedly go in for repair & never gets fixed properly, overall poorly maintained throughout the company! this should be the #1 priority but the managers are only interested that the mail gets delivered and they get there bonus nothing else.
    Same S different day - Its very repetitive and boring at times ive been doing this job now for 5 years and nothing has really changed, if you are on a float its nice to see different people and areas but if you got your own round its okay but boring, sometimes can feel like a robot and people DO moan a lot!
    No discount at the post office for employees!
    Some rounds can be physically demanding.

    Help the employees more sorting mail, cheer up and focus on staff welfare.
