    Pros

SRP is a very old, very stable company that offers comprehensive benefits and ready access to any number of career development opportunities. This is the kind of company where career employees with 30-40 years of experience are not the exception, they are the norm - that speaks volumes about the company itself.

    Cons

Certainly, as with any company, you might get a less-than-inspiring supervisor or manager. But the great thing about SRP is that movement within the company, even between the Power and Water sides of the company is not only not frowned upon, it's considered a healthy thing. So it is the rare employee who feels locked into their particular job. If you wish to move around, you will have that opportunity. That said, many who don't suffer a dolt for a boss wind up spending decades in the same role, satisfied. The work/life balance is good.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I happen to know the kind of man Mark Bonsall is and can say without reservation, he only wants to see SRP and its employees succeed. He's actively engaged in a constant process of evaluating the company's strengths and weaknesses, just as he did with impressive results in customer service when he headed that organization, and this can only bode well for the company. I expect the future will be stable for SRP, regardless of national or local economic factors.
