Company built around poor morals, degrading upper management and poor operation.

    Pros

At this time there are no pros regarding sps or their operation as a company. In years past this wasn't the case. Operation in the last two years has changed that. A direct result from the most recent vice president over late stage collections.

    Cons

Upper management doesn't analyze situations prior to making rash decisions that affect the entire department including management and associates and decrease morale. Communication is poor with no explanation as to why a new requirement or task has been put in place also directives are rarely communicated until after there is an issue. The expectation is that work is a priority over family or personal obligations. The workload is almost impossible and everything is considered a number one priority. Recognition or compensation is almost non existant if you are in a lower management role. An incompetent peer in management will be required to complete a much lighter work load as there is no expectation for their development, which in turn will require competent and valuable assets to be overworked and not compensated for it. If you climb the corporate ladder the expectation is that you will lose the potential to earn as much incentive as your subordinates. Some associates will double the amount of annual income as their supervisor. The climate is one that you fear coming to work that you will be in trouble and receive disciplinary action which will again disqualify you from monthly incentives. Less valuable associates are protected by human resources even when they are unable to perform their basic job functions. Processes have been outsourced to India which has in turn duplicated the amount of work needed to complete basic processes due to their lack of understanding and training. The timeliness have increased due to the outsourcing and hiring of incompetent employees. You should feel comfortable approaching anyone in a higher position than you, and this is not the case with SPS. The atmosphere that has been created in the department since recent promotions is uncomfortable and unsettling.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When you say there is an open door policy you should mean it. If you treat valuable employees as if they have worth they will work harder for you. Snide looks or comments towards subordinates decreases morale. If an issue is brought to your attention it should be your responsibility to address and fix it not the responsibility of your subordinates.
