Starbucks, not a bad place to begin working

    I worked at Starbucks

    Pros

The benefits are very good, particularly for part time workers. Health, dental, vision, are all covered if I remember correctly. Also, there is a stock incentive plan, and of course ... free coffee! You'll meet a lot of very cool customers, make a bunch of tasty beverages, and flirt with the cuties. If female, you will be on the receiving end of much flirtation. If a guy, maybe, maybe not. If you are not yet addicted to caffeine, you soon will be. You can also eat some of the leftover pastries that weren't sold. And, the pay isn't too bad.

    Cons

There are certainly a few downsides to working at Starbucks. First, you have to deal with customers, so you better like that aspect of your job because there's no avoiding it. Some customers can be downright nasty, especially if coffee is their black tar heroin. There'll be no end of fat people ordering venti frappuccinos... and you just want to scream at them and say "dude! this thing is going to kill you!". Of course, the biggest downside is that working at SBUX isn't really much of a career, unless you really want to be a regional manager of a Starbucks someday.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Biggest advice is to focus on Starbucks core compentencies ... the drinks!
