I worked at Truven Health Analytics full-time

    Pros

Management made it easy for employees to succeed if they followed process. Excellent work was constantly recognized both to the employee and company wide. There was much documentation to look up processes and details. Technology upgrades gave us some great support tools to use. The average employee was very intelligent and friendly, and the workplace was very diverse and safe. Ability to seamlessly work remotely from home was very helpful, especially on poor weather or traffic days. Through the sale from Thomson Reuters to an independent company, I never felt like my job was in danger.

    Cons

There was almost too much process and documentation. Too much of the week would be spent in meetings that weren't applicable or got off track, and the amount/length of email chains we had to pay attention to made it difficult to stay focused. The complexity of our analytic software made it such that multiple departments would have to stay constantly engaged to figure out fixes and issues, and the operations department was evidently overworked, as was middle management. It was difficult to also feel and see the results of day-to-day work because some of the work was so abstract, so it felt very numbing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't try to change too much all at one time. Sometimes it's tough for employees to get their bearings.
