I have been working at Xilinx full-time (more than 8 years)

Once you got familiar with the first set of FPGA product, your knowledge requirement for continuous update will be very limited. You will not feel more pressure at all.

The product line is very similar from one generation to another. It's not very challenging to learn and develop advanced knowledge to follow industry lead.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The management should explore the product line beyond FPGA scope. Shrink the die size should not be the major task from year to year. Explore the FPGA application and built semi-FPGA product could be the key for revenue growth. Should focus more on top-line growth instead of bottom line(cost cutting effort).
