I have been working at AKQA full-time for more than 3 years

The people- the way that we all come together as a team. I have never worked with such a dedicated, passionate team, who are constantly pushing each other to deliver the best work. Every company says this, but I truly feel I have a family in my colleagues. The culture is top and I am consistently inspired.

Inconsistency in processes and management. Lack of training. Current employees are constantly looked over for promotion and usurped by new hires instead, causing a wasteful amount of turnover. It's a crying shame. The wrong qualities are valued and the company demonstrates a lot of myopia, both in terms of business and client management as well as talent.

    Application Details

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week - interviewed at AKQA in October 2011.

    Interview Details

The process was based on networking solely. I had made a connection with a recruiter who was hiring for the position in New York, they were the one who helped me get my foot in the door for the interview. The position was really easy to discuss in the initial phone interview and was more about scheduling for a sit down, that could be based on credentials.

The in-person didn't last more than 20 minutes and consisted of hypotheticals regarding what type of strategy work, or accounts I would work on and how I would solve so and so problems. Great experience.
