I have been working at Habitat for Humanity

    Great feeling to help someone.
    Weather was decent.
    Team Leaders were helpful.
Co-volunteers were fun to work with.
    Breakfast and lunch were good.

Ducking and dodging yellow jacket bees that were everywhere.
Muddy on the side of the house where we were doing siding.
Wish I could have helped more than just one day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would have been nice if the concrete was laid on the side of the house before siding was put on so the ground could have been more stable.

    Interview Details

I had applied via the career services department at my university, where they did the first round of interviewing. The people who made it to the second round were then interviewed by Habitat for Humanity directors at their offices. They were really good at communicating with me before my interview. When I arrived and got settled into the meeting room, everything went smoothly. They're really nice and willing to answer any of your questions.

Thanks to Habitat for Humanity, more than 2 million people worldwide know there's no place like home. The mission of the not-for-profit, ecumenical Christian organization is to provide adequate and affordable shelter. It has built more than 400,000 houses at cost for families who demonstrate a need and are willing to invest "sweat equity" during construction. Homeowners make payments on no-interest mortgages; Habitat for Humanity funnels the funds back into the construction of homes for others. The group operates in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto... More
