The company expects far too much and pays to little to hourly employees

I worked at Kwik Trip part-time (more than an year)

If you have a great store manager, you will have a good experience; if not, you won't. Our district manager was useless. Rarely spoke to most people and did zero development. My store manager is one of the best in the company; because of this, the store was really a good team. But all of the extra effort was because no one wanted to ever let the manager down, not because anything the company did in the form of compensation.

Massive employee handbook and 13 hours of boring video training. I've never seen a company that expects so much from hourly people. Everyone I worked with that has been there for more than ten years has bad ankles, bad knees or a back back from constantly having to stand.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is a lot of big talk when you first join about opportunity and how great the pay was. However, after being there four over I year I discovered many employees who were there 3 to 4 years making less than $10.00 and hour with much responsibility.

One interview with the site manager. A customer told me he had 3. Mine was easy but I think he liked me. They probably don't getting people with 2 degrees applying very often. They had someone move to a diff store that's the only reason an opening came up. I was told 2nd shift but I've been working mostly mornings. I'm not getting the max 28 hrs promised.
