I worked at Parkson Corporation full-time (more than 8 years)Pros
Great city to live. I enjoyed the weather and the beaches, nice people in Fort Lauderdale area.
If you want to experiment working in this industry and living there for a year or two, this can be a good choice.
People are collaborative and welcoming.
Good benefits and opportunity to take on a project for a couple of years.Cons
There were lots o changes in management recently and it is uncertain what is the future of the company.
If you are not an MBA the potential to get a higher management roles are very low.
Technical expertise is not valued as much as business, which is a very narrow perspective that has lead to the shrinkage of the company.
Most of people with experience are retiring or leave the company, reducing tremendously knowledge capital for Parkson.Advice to ManagementAdvice
Reduce uncertainty about company's future by keeping open meetings with realistic results. Too much optimism has been the cause of current demotivation among employees.
Promotion of recent hires with low technical expertise justified only b/c of MBA degree has a large impact on current employees, increasing the uncertainty and trust on Parkson. Gives the perspective that there is no professional development within Parkson.Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookDisapproves of CEO
