I have been working at Red Lobster part-time (more than 3 years)

    -Great discount
    -ok benefits, not major medical
    -lots of hours
    -extremely flexible
-3 out of 4 great managers
    -fun atmosphere

-What I have noticed is if you are not a pro at your job you will not get a majority of the shifts. As a host I get 30+ hours while some get 10 because I can run the host stand by myself, instead of having 2 hosts on. They save labor.
-stop with the constant talk about labor! We get it.
-more stringent policies when hiring. I can tell who will make it, and who won't. Why can't management?
-pay is unleveled. The longest hired host there makes less than a new hire. It's really embarressing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give new hires minimum wage for their first 30 days then bump them up to what they deserve. Also pay your current hosts more than what you give new hires.

I applied on a Wednesday and I called to set up an interview the next day (with no emails saying to). I spoke to the GM who said he'll look at my application and he should get to me by that day or tomorrow. He called me 15 minutes later and asked if I could come for an interview on Tuesday. For the interview I spoke to the GM and another manager separately and they spoke privately to one another and hired me on the spot.
