Who We Are
Red Ventures uses advanced online marketing and a highly skilled sales force to optimize and disrupt every stage of the online sales process for partners in high-growth industries. Our in-house capabilities include digital marketing, lead generation, sales conversion, proprietary performance tracking and technology. Red Ventures is headquartered just south of Charlotte, NC.
Founded in 2000, Red Ventures has grown by more than 30 percent for the last 5 years, and has been ranked among the fastest-growing companies in the U.S. and as a 'best places to work' in Charlotte for 6 years running. Red Ventures has three offices and more than 2,200 employees in the Carolinas.
What We Do
What we do is unique and often hard to explain. In a nutshell: we partner with large brands in high-growth industries and we own the entire direct marketing process on their behalf - from demand generation to closing the sale. Our expertise lies in our ability to optimize the entire customer lifecycle for these brand partners. We do this by connecting with potential customers from their initial interest in the marketplace to their end transaction.
It all begins with that exciting moment when a potential customer becomes interested in a product or service we help our partners sell. As soon as a customer expresses interest, typically through an online search, we handle the rest. At Red Ventures, we own the entire marketing funnel for our partners, from demand generation to closing the sale. Our team has expertise in natural search, paid search, cross-selling, sales scripting, copywriting, development and more.
We also have incredible sales agents. When a customer calls in, our agents are trained and ready to sell. From our advanced call-routing technology to our real-time sales scripts, we sell like it's nobody's business. Once we close a sale, we hand the customer over to the brand partner and they handle the billing, shipping and installation. Then, we get back to the good stuff: marketing and selling.
How We Work
We are performance-driven, fun-loving, and absolutely maniacal about data. It drives every decision we make, and our ability to collect, track and analyze both on and offlilne data is what gives us an edge on the competition. Did the customer buy? How long were they on the site? Why did they leave the site? We use these findings (plus hundreds more) to make decisions and optimize the entire sales and marketing process as we go.
At RV, we run lean and stay agile – because we’re the type of people who like to be kept on our toes. RV is a place where speed trumps perfection and where really talented people come to grow their careers. We're not crazy about process or org-charts; we keep things flat and fast when and wherever possible. RV gives its employees the chance to create significant value, make a real impact, and to control their own destiny. Our people are our biggest competitive advantage. We hire the brightest minds in the business, equip them with the best tools and technology, and then give them the freedom to revolutionize.
In a nutshell, RV brings together talented people who have fun challenging what’s possible and doing big things. That’s how we work. That’s what motivates us. That’s why we win.
When we talk about our culture, we’re not talking about our employees’ lifestyle or personality types. We’re talking about the special sauce that makes great people want to work here - and the qualities that drive success here.
RV attracts and develops highly motivated, intensely innovative, results-oriented individuals. Performance is rewarded with increasing responsibility, regardless of tenure or experience. Employees have latitude to make important decisions, take smart risks, and own their careers.
The people here are unique and they make the RV culture pretty unbeatable. They're some of the absolute best at what they do and they are given the freedom and tools they need to help Red Ventures run like a well-oiled machine. (FYI: 'tools' includes the latest technology, unlimited energy drinks, an obscene amount of monitors, nerdy internet humor and lots of basketball).
Red Ventures people are passionate about life, at work and outside it. The team is comprised of marathon runners, skydiving instructors, former Peace Corps volunteers, scuba divers, artists, and world travelers. Their energy, enthusiasm, and dedication to driving performance every day is the key to Red Ventures’ continued growth and success.
We use our office for more than just work.
We think world-class talent deserves a world-class workspace. As an RV employee, you can start your morning with a spin cycling class and chase it with a mocha latte from our onsite coffee bar. Then take a mid-morning break to play a quick game of HORSE on the indoor basketball court. Grab lunch with friends at one of the onsite restaurants and eat it outside by the pergola if the weather is nice. Wrap up the work day with a brick-oven pizza and then head to the rooftop beer garden or basement bowling alley for happy hour with your buddies.
Drive your own career path. Surround yourself with the brightest minds. Laugh (every day). Make a real impact. Learn more than you thought possible. Use the best technology. Share ideas. Interested? Then think about joining Red Ventures. We're more than just the Best Place to Work, we're a career catapult.

I have been working at Red Ventures full-time (less than an year)Pros
Personally, I don't understand a lot of the negative reviews. Someone said going over break/lunch by a SECOND gives you attendance points and that's a flat-out lie. You have a three minute buffer on each. If you can't manage that (with or without the buffer) you need to grow up and realize it's a job and you need to be there. The problem isn't the company; it's you. Then people say they hide the fact that it's phone sales. They don't. When you have your in-person interview, you actually sit in on phone calls of other sales agents. That's not really "hiding" anything. I love the people I work with, I love the amenities (bowling alley, free yoga, subsidized meals, etc). There are great benefits (medical, vision, dental, 401k, even assistance with adoption costs if you're looking for that!). The campus is beautiful. Most of the managers I've dealt with (performance managers, workforce managers, et cetera) are helpful, nice, understanding, and good at keeping constant coaching to develop you and boost morale. They're constantly giving away money and great prizes (cruises, football tickets, tablets). They give you a base pay AND an uncapped commission structure where it's very, very easy to make money (and I work on easily one of the most difficult businesses to sell on). There are also plenty of opportunities to move up and advance. They create a great culture, a comfortable atmosphere, and actually care what the employees think.Cons
It's not for everybody. It's a very high-paced intense job that can burn you out if you aren't cut out for it. They don't tolerate people who make a lot of excuses very well. The hours can be rough (but if you do your job, not for long).Advice to ManagementAdvice
Don't let the more successful/veteran sales agents go uncoached because they know what they're doing. Everyone can use constructive criticism, even the #1 sales agent. And keep doing what you're doing!RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEO
Getting an Interview
Getting an Interview
- Application Details
I applied online. The process took a week – interviewed at Red Ventures in September 2014.Interview Details
Very simple process. First you are given a 5 minute phone interview (easy, I think they just want to make sure you know how to speak) then you are given a 30 minute phone interview that dives into some of your previous work experience. After that I was called onsite for about a three-and-a-half hour day of tours, meeting people and listening in on sales calls.
Im not really sure why people say the company tries to disguise that this is phone sales. They definitely dont. It's out in the open. But I think they approach the monotony of sales in a very unique way with incentives, prizes, etc.
You have to do a mock script of a sales call--once again, very easy.Interview Questions
