I worked at Spencer Ogden full-timePros
Vibrant office environment
Cool offices with astroturf floors, american diners.
Learnt a new industry
If you are very good and lucky there is potential to earn good money.Cons
Drug culture is ridiculous - once we had a wolf of wall street dress up day.
Certain staff members given much more time, even if they are performing poorly.
Massive staff turnover.
Far too much emphasis on the KPI's - don't take into consideration if you were on client meetings two days of the week - you are still expected to hit your weekly KPI's.
At times I felt i was working in a call centre.
The reality of the situation is that 2 or 3 people carry the company, whilst the other 300 earn their basic £20k with maybe £5k commission come the end of the year - treated like guinea pigs.
Only very few people earn good money.
Billing less than £5000 a month = no commission.
Certain team leaders are hopeless at managing a team and are under so much pressure to hit their annual billings that they have no time for helping/training graduates.
Didn't get paid for being off sick for 1 day.Advice to ManagementAdvice
Just because someone 'Bills' the company a certain amount of money, does not mean they should have the opportunity to manage a team. People shouldn't manage a team when they have few/no management characteristics.
Stop trying to make out that everyone earns excellent money in this company.
Far too much empathise on the KPI's and daily call time.
Graduates should be given more time/help.Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookNo opinion of CEO
Getting an Interview
Getting an Interview
- Application Details
I applied through an employee referral. The process took a day - interviewed at Spencer Ogden in February 2014.Interview Details
They brought me into the office which is a big open room with everyone working out in the open. I sat in the only secluded office and waited to meet the internal recruiter. After meeting the internal recruiter I waited to meet with 4 other employees (team leaders, team members). at the end of the interview i meet with the office director and answer the same questions for a 5th time.Interview Questions
