The following are some highlights of initiatives from our offices around the world and stories about how associates are getting involved in charitable giving, volunteering, pro bono work and sustainability.
This is a story from the UK HR Team, EMEA
In September 2013, A group of 20 UK HR and Internal Communications associates volunteered for the day at the Orpheus Centre, a charity for young disabled adults based in Godstone, Surrey. We were lucky to have good weather and spent a hard day weeding, bush cutting, digging and generally improving the gardens for the students. We also planted a great collection of flowers, plants and bulbs, which were purchased from the proceeds of a cake sale and donations. We were treated to a quick performance by one of the students during lunch, so it was great to see the centre in action and understand how it helps their students to develop life skills and confidence through performing arts. There were lots of aches and pains the next day, but it was well worth it when we received an email thanking us for our hard work and saying how impressed they were with the amount of work we got done!

In October, I visited Cambodia in Southeast Asia to take part in a volunteer program with the Tabitha Foundation, a sustainable non-profit organization helping the poorest people in Cambodia. Here’s my story…
The Tabitha Foundation – Their Work…
The Tabitha Foundation helps local people through programs that focus on personal and financial development.
The organization’s philosophy is themed around self-help, designed to promote self-sufficiency and dignity through savings, counselling and goal-setting programs. Families typically “graduate” from Tabitha support after six years of tutorial, after which they should have food for their families, shelter and a source of income.
Volunteer work is paramount in supporting the local people to reach self-sufficiency and also demonstrates that people outside of Cambodia are aware of these local conditions.I have been involved with this program for the past four years and have traveled to Cambodia three times with a group of ex-colleagues and friends, and here’s just some of what we’ve achieved: built 92 houses, erected 150 drinking wells and donated hundreds of piglets to villagers

Millennium Development Goals
In 2000, over 180 nations made a promise to free people from extreme poverty, hunger and disease. This pledge resulted in the creation of the Millennium Development Goals, an ambitious plan under the sponsorship of the United Nations to achieve measureable improvements in health, education, gender equality and environmental sustainability by 2015.
Save the Children has been an active participant in these efforts and we were fortunate to represent Towers Watson at Save the Children’s Annual Breakfast Briefing event, held recently in New York City.
The theme for the briefing was: A Focus on Health and Education and looked at the charity's support of the Millennium Development Goals.
Old Pheasantry Cleanup
In July, a group of almost 50 Risk Consulting and Software (RCS) associates volunteered at the Old Pheasantry, near Reigate in Surrey. The group included associates of various levels from four offices (Epsom, Leadenhall, Holborn and Reigate) and three teams (PC, Life and Software). The Old Pheasantry is a turn of the century mock Tudor house with an estate of three acres, used frequently by special needs and disadvantaged children from local communities for short breaks. The site is managed and maintained by Land and City Families Trust.
The RCS volunteers were tasked with tidying up the large garden and painting the interior walls of the house, so that the venue was generally more welcoming for the visiting children and their social carers! The job included, amongst many other things, cutting down overgrown bushes and trees (including a tree that had fallen over the night before), clearing the playground area, weeding, painting the summer house and general maintenance of the patio area. From the outset, the RCS volunteers worked enthusiastically and as the day progressed, the state of the grounds improved significantly. Even when the heavens opened and we were treated to the true delights of a typical British summer, the team continued working (often with an umbrella in one hand and a garden tool of some form in the other).
The volunteers were awarded certificates prepared by Reigate and Banstead Volunteer Centre and the day finished with a BBQ (unfortunately a very rainy one!). The hard work and donations of the RCS team were very much appreciated by the caretaker of the Old Pheasantry.

I applied through other source. The process took 1+ week – interviewed at Towers Watson (Gurgaon, Haryana) in January 2015.
The process was organised smoothly and the exercises (case and PPT) were very relevant to the job role. The HR was also cooperative in adjusting the time of the interview to accommodate interviewees.
- First round was a telephonic interview with HR. The face-to-face process involved one case exercise, few research based exercises and a PPT. This was followed by 2 rounds of interviews with the management. Answer Question
