I worked at Aéropostale full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

They pay well and the benefits are average.

    Cons

Although the pay was good, the company's poor financial performance really takes it's toll on the management. I was in the Wild Region which is the southeast. Her leadership was terrible. Managers are expected to live in their store. 80 hour work weeks are expected because they can't afford to staff the store with non salaried employees. They also really push being skinny and pretty.

I worked at Aéropostale part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

they were willing to hire me without any prior work experience

    Cons

They only gave me one or two 5 hour shift a week, and I was making minimum wage. They didn't really train or coach me to advance, they mainly just needed me there for extra coverage or to help clean. Management got most of the hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It is difficult to advance in your position when you only work once a week. You need to offer employees more hours before you see their performance improve.

I worked at Aéropostale part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Easy to handle job, fun workspace, great management.

    Cons

    The pay rate was bad.
    The hours were also bad.
Scheduling was never focused on anything in particular except whether or not you wanted to work those days.
The new "Aero Now" is cool, but you're pressuring and potentially harrasing customers. No one wants to be pressured.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If this is towards upper management:
    - Amend some policies. I worked over 30-hours a week, and I was a Sales Associate. I got paid $7.25 an hour. I originally planned on becoming a Sales Lead when I was was of age. However, it was changed. The Sales Leads don't pay attention to detail like they're supposed to. The Store Manager relied on ME to help train the Sales Leads, and the other associates. I was there longer than: SM, SL's, and all of the associates, and I was still getting paid $7.25 while doing a management job.

I have been working at Aéropostale part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    Discounts, flexible scheduling, easy tasks

    Cons

Not enough hours(only given 5 hours a week), minimum wage pay, and they had hired too many employees, so the majority of us were working only 5 hours a week.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't have such a large staff, so you can increase pay per employee, and they get more hours.
