    Pros

    1. Don't have any technical expertise and you plan to move into managerial or consulting work, then this is the place
    2. Think a thousand times before you decide to join AIG Data Solutions

    Cons

    1. Worst work environment, the politics happens and can be seen right from top management to analyst level
    2. You cant expect to get the best rating unless you are close to your directors and agree to all they say. They would push an individual to top rating even if he hasn't delivered on a project or have the technical expertise. That's the level of politics going on.
    3. Your designation at AIG Data Solutions depends more on your years of experience and pay, rather than your performance and growth over years. People who were at developer role in their previous organizations with close to 10 years experience have been directly given out Manager level designations without even evaluating their people management skills
    4. The US business partners treat the employees at India like slaves and show little respect for the work being done
    5. Firing of employees has happened on a frequent basis with no intimation. The employees were not even given an opportunity to put forward their points
    6. No learning and no training's provided for the laterals. No guidance from the managers as they lack technical experience in the field they have been assigned to manage
    7. None would recommend the company to others due to all the reasons mentioned here, the reasons though have been discussed within the office for a long time has had no impact or decisions taken to resolve it

    Advice to Management

    1. Train your managers on people management
    2. Hire managers who have worked on the technologies and who have strong expertise in the area.
    3. The leaders at Bangalore office are going to bring the organization down due to lack of people management skills and the attitude they have towards the employees

    Pros

A stressful environment and everyday politics. Don't see anything positive about this place

    Cons

Endless, but to start with CAT modeling director and the perfect example of favoritism.People at CoE get opportunities only if you are from the directors previous organization. There is an indirect approach to it too. If your lead/manager is a previous colleague and you have the blessings of your manager for any reason other than work.
A recent example of this was the formation of the Marine team. The most unqualified from on the floor was given the opportunity to lead the team and after everything was decided an IJP was released and which went to people who are not eligible to apply. And on top of it the senior manager has openly told on the floor that he has set it up with the director which implies that the interview was just a formality. Every employee raised this issue in the HR Focus Group but no action was taken. Not only the team lead but the rest of the team members were also pre decided by the manager with complete support from the director.
And this continues... Getting inspired by this other senior managers have also started picking people from their previous organization, same cast ,same language, same place etc etc..
AIG as a organization says "we don't discriminate people based on religion, cast, sex, social strata etc" but what is seen is exactly opposite to it.

    Advice to Management

If anybody reads this and cares Please look at all the promotions in CoE and look at the list of people who are recommended for promotion for this appraisal cycle and a clear picture will come out.

    Pros

Brand Name and some hope from the new HR head (HR Focus group).

    Cons

Long working hours and no personal lyf.. no support from Management...Corrupt management
    Fancy names for clerical jobs
    Minimal learning and career growth
Incompetency is not dealt with so low motivation amongst staff.high levels of favoritism.Management tends to be 'BRUTAL', "if excess leaves are taken. Lack of transparency . Petty office politics and Groupism mainly because of lack of opportunities for people to grow, which makes more room for internal petty politics which is evident and openly shown.

    Advice to Management

Please be more transperent, and dont fool gullible people in to believing they will do some thing gr8 when they join AIG.

    Pros

    Quality Work
Learning experience only if you get a chance to sit with the SMEs, in other countries

    Cons

    Useless leadership
    Management from Genpact
Looks like Genpact has moved all their non productive staff to AIG India operation.
HR also being from Genpact, does not take any action against the managers, who also in turn are from Genpact.
Sr. Leadership( also Genpact) are trying to impose their cost cutting technique here as well.
Management being f Genpact is still under impression that this is a BPO process, please wake up and understand that this is a captive unit of AIG and not some third party, and please dont refer business partners as Client.

    Advice to Management

Get Genpact out of India operations as soon as possible. They are ruining the image of the company in India.
Get as many of actual AIG leadership to this centre, otherwise this might go south for you.
This is the reason, there is so much of attrition in the company, right at the beginning.

    Pros

Salary is average but they extract too much for the salary and work hours is more than 12hours

    Cons

Managers and regional leads take personal revange on analyst and escalate even a small issue which is caused because of these regional leads ....regional leads don't work and pressures the analyst and take grudges and play lot of internal politics...

Managers and leads have to change their behavior and attitude otherwise no analyst can work more than a year...
really analyst are getting frustrated to much because of the leads ....managers treat analyst as more as slave by escalating even a small issue and pressuring with politics...

    Advice to Management

Leads have to change their attitude and managers should treat analyst as humans ..should not play politics with leads and pressure analyst
