Pros – stability of org, position in globe, nice training programme, quality products, good culture

Cons – unetical pressure now a days, reduced allegation for recent bad practise, high attrition, lack of proper marketting plan, less coordination & understanding between steps of workers

Advice to Senior Management – huge miss communication happening across so attrition rate is high

Pros – It is very transparent organization and has good healthy atmosphere for working.
Mutual respect is very high for colleagues who work for Abbott.

Cons – The undue pressure for performance is very for the Indian employees. The newly hired bosses from other Companies or executives are spoiling the atmosphere in the Abbott which is a great organization. This should be stopped immediately or else nobody will be willing to join Abbott in India. It will loose its valued employees of this policy.

Advice to Senior Management – The upper management should be more transparent and the HR should function without bias. Due to the bias management activities in the recent years Abbott has lost lot of good employees who worked with dedication for this Organisation for years.

Cons – Too much control driven, political, one man driven, big talk of values

Advice to Senior Management – Pl honor commitments, Walk the talk, relieve artificial pressure and people can perform and innovate

3. Encouraging and supporting senior leaders
4. Tremendous enhancement in learning by the scope of projects provided

Cons – 1. Some policies need to be in place for better management
2. Work-Life balance of employees need to be worked upon
3. No recreational facilities

Advice to Senior Management – Balance between Work and personal life is a rising issue in Abbott that needs to be worked upon and provideing some recreational facility (as Abbott has a wonderful campus) and a good canteen would be an added benefit.

Pros – The company is a solid performer that is very financially or numbers driven and provides good benefits. It is more a company to retire in rather than start a fast-paced career with (although different divisions have their own personalities). But, then that is no secret.

Cons – The decision making can be slow and bureaucratic at times. Senior management does not follow a hands-off approach and will try and impose US-think to other parts of the world (even though it does not work the same). I was surprised by how little direct exposure top management has to international markets particularly in the emerging markets.

Advice to Senior Management – More international people should be seen in top management positions. Almost all top managers are wasp with narrow thinking and a restricted worldview. Greater customer focus.
What works in the US or Europe does not necessarily work in the developing markets, yet same templates and expensive American expat managers are imposed in geographies where they take a year to find out what is happening, another year to blame their predecessor and the last one to find something new to do back home!
Strategic thinking about business during reviews. My experience has shown only numbers and more numbers being discussed almost to the exclusion of business issues or market or customer.

-Very helpful people, who are willing to teach and help others learn
-Interesting and rewarding work

Cons – -Not the best place for growth right now
-Is very conservative when it comes to technology
-Still has the old school mindset with not much of a focus on growing younger employees so they will stay

Advice to Senior Management – Focus on growing the younger talent within the company so that they will stay with the company and become future leaders instead of leaving
