    Pros

    Cons

Would expect you to work evenings and weekends, but was able to make up for it with time off during work week.

I worked at Ace Hardware full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Fast paced work, better pay than most entry level warehouse jobs.

    Cons

CONSTANTLY working against the clock in the distribution center, everyone is there to work and go home. No sense of pride in anyones work and everyone looks after themselves.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find away to make sure your employees are working hard and not wasting your time and money other than using machines to track their work.

Former Employee - Customer Service Representative in Bellevue, WA (US)

I worked at Ace Hardware part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I worked in the Bellevue WA Store. They paid me $12 an hour to start . I was let go because I made to much money which was not my fault. I worked there during the construction recession.

    Cons

The management is to young and does not do HR very well. I was laid off for reasons never spoken to me about. I was a good employee especially after 6 years at one store. I'd like to get a job at another ACE closer to my home but ACE Bellevue will not give me a good reference.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you keep someone for 6 years you ought to work with them to keep them there. I have a lot of construction experience to go with my customer service experience after 25 years.

    Pros

They don't watch you like a hawk. Hours are pretty good and the employee discount was amazing. Family owned.

    Cons

Pay is not great. Hardly ever get a raise and favoritism is rampant. The customers are usually old mean men who are in desperate need of a plumbing fix.

    Pros

they work around your school schedule, and try to give you all the days off you asked for. which is great.
