Current Employee – been working at Aflac full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Working B2B, you are able to help individuals attain financial security with affordable Aflac products while the employer enjoys a payroll tax savings. It is a win-win for everyone. Great management support from the very top (Mr. Amos) down to the local office. Having worked for 40+ years, Aflac, by far, is the best employer to work for. Why else would the company be named one of the most Ethical companies, year after year after year.....
Cons – Aflac's internal computer processes need some updating.
Advice to Senior Management – Need to work with local agents to determine ways to improve communication between HQ and agent on behalf of insureds.

Former Employee – worked at Aflac full-time for less than a year
Pros – The programs that you sell are great and the people are great. When you are opening groups and making money, life is great. You make what you put in. If you don't prospect for sales then you don't make money. You also get renewals for each year customers keep their policies. Easy interview process.
Cons – This is a 100% commission job so it is very difficult to start out. If you luck out and get a district manager who has a lot of activity and needs help enrolling then you will have a better start than most people. High turnover rate.
Advice to Senior Management – Don't hire everyone that walks through the door. Interview process was way to easy and I saw a lot of new people that did not seem suited for the job.

Current Employee – been working at Aflac full-time
Pros – You are your own boss. Your earnings potential is directly tied how much effort you put into your job. Great product line and name recognition. Great claims service for your clients.
Cons – There can be a lack of support from the district and regional management. There tends to be a large turnover in the management level. No income support for new agents. If you don't have money to live on when you start you can be in trouble.
Advice to Senior Management – Help new agents get started with a stipend. And don't keep changing district and regional managers.

Current Employee – been working at Aflac full-time for less than a year
Pros – High commission, low market penetration, great product. Hardest part is just setting appointments with business owners. Once you have that first appointment 85% of decision-makers will see the value in the product and make the benefits available to the employees. The employees are generally even more positive to the product and usually acquire at least the two basic policies.
Cons – No salary, no benefits as an agent.

Former Employee – worked at Aflac full-time for more than a year
Pros – Ability to work independently, schedule your own time, build your own network of clients, etc...
Cons – Transitioning from the w-2 world leaves many people with no direction. Much of the compensation in this environment is driven by individual effort..
Advice to Senior Management – More side-by-side training and personal development needed for individuals who have never been self employed. Transition from the w-2 mentality is difficult, unless driven by desire.
